Fear
There cannot be
Courage'"

"If it was Bellamy-"

"It was Bellamy!" Bear argued,"And he's here, fucking finally."

She had feared the inevitable. Bear thought that one of the burning corpses on the ground of their original home here on earth was one of his, one of Bellamy's.

Although no one has dared to say it to her face, some believed that she'd manifested the idea of Bellamy looming in those hallways beyond the door.

To keep her hopeful, you see.

"It doesn't make any sense," Monty ushered.

"How doesn't it make any sense," Bear explained,"he may be an asshole, but he's our asshole, he wouldn't leave us."

An alarm blared, making everyone flinch at the sound, slicing through the quiet whispers of everyone's words. Reaching out an arm, Bear held it protectively infront of Harper, as guards flooded into the room.

"God," a girl whimpered,"not again."

Not again, they say. This had happened before, the splitting alarm, the soldiers, the choosing. Someone was taken from them, and they hadn't of seen them since.

Monty hypothesises they're taking them to where they took Harper and himself. When Bear asked where that was, fear seemed to clog up his airways at the memories of that room.

Bear dreaded that.

"Back up, everyone!" A soldier ordered,"back up!"

Standing her ground, she clenched her jaw at the sight of the fanatic doctor marching in. How dare she wear white, how dare she call herself a doctor.

Doctors were suppose to help people, not rip them apart.

A rifle was smacked into the side of Bears head, as she sought the eyes of the soldiers beneath their helmets. She dared them to look her in the eye, and maybe one of them would see a sister, a daughter in the reflection of her iris.

Hissing at the pain, Bear was guided to the wall with Harpers fragile fingers wrung around her wrist. Looking to the blonde, she didn't want them to take her.

Holding Harper behind her, Bear stood protectively as two guards marched towards them.

"Not the blonde," the doctor called out,"she needs more time to recover."

"Sick bitch," Bear spat,"you proud of yourself? Taking the lives of the innocent you were sworn to protect?"

"I'm not taking any," the doctor smirked,"I'm merely replacing... take her, she's got a nasty tongue that could be taught a lesson."

Bear felt as if a hand was clasped around her throat, slowly cutting off her air supply. Yet, nothing was there. Her heart began to pound so loud that it was the only thing she heard, although she knew that yelling was taking place.

Softly blinking, she looked down to see herself wearing the burgundy dress she'd worn so long ago. A rustic cardigan thrown overtop.

She was fourteen once more.

The soldiers around her were the same ones that forcibly removed her from her sisters grasp, she looked to her hands, the ghostly feeling of Embers nails stabbing into her palms.

Clenching her hands together, she looked to the side and almost gasped out in fear, one of the guards had looked like Bellamy.

Bellamy, she needed her Bellamy, the one that was beyond these doors. Somewhere in these hallways, hidden amongst the soldiers.

Forcing her eyes shut, she listened to the voice of Kane's voice reminding her how to breathe.

"No!" Tangerines voice, like an ear splitting scream, tore through the silence Bear was locked up in,"Get off of her!"

Rushing forward, Tangerine didn't notice the gun being clicked off of safety, and pointed her way.

"No!" Bear yelled,"Tangerine, stay!"

Skidding across the floor, Bear couldn't find the right footing to stay upright. The guards kept yanking at her arms and forcing her head forward.

"Look after them!" Bear yelled out, pushing down a sob.

She wanted to look brave, for them. So she'd mask her fear, like she'd always done.

"Tangerine!" Bear yelled, as she was shoved out the door,"promise me you'll take care of them!"

"I-" Tangerine cried out,"Bear!"

"Promise me!" Bear growled, the anger in her voice drowning out the rush of fear.

"I promise!" Tangerine whimpered.

"Good," Bear smirked, as she met eyes with the doctor as she was pulled past,"may we meet again."

Piling up the bile in her throat, she spat into the woman's face, making the doctor screech in horror of the action. Her hands shaking as she wiped the mucus from her face.

"You vile girl," she seethed.

"You know," Bear smirked,"that's a compliment."

Raising their guns, the soldiers started to move backwards out the door. Bear walked in the midst of them, her head held high, a smile on her face.

Maybe she'd get to see her family sooner than she thought.
