Its finally summer, the sweet and warm vacation atmosphere conquer the island where the blur hero know as Sonic live with all his friends and his secret love too, he was doing his routine like: meeting his friends, helping the other, stoping eggman from whatever hes planing, ect...
But his favorite hobby's running around the island, he can do that all day but today he have other plans and a special surprise for dear lover, after leaving his friends he went to a little cave after buying a lunch in the Meh Burger.
As he enter he call his name but no response, after me call he conclut that he wasn't here, he was about to leave when he heard a his dark lover voice at the entry asking him why he was here, knowing that they usually hang out the night to not attract any attention
But Sonic want to spend more time with him and specially that he prepare a little surprise for him tonight, so he want to make this day really a special day for him.
Sonic: « hey Shad didn't you miss me? *smile cutely* »
Shadow : « we usually hang out the night Sonic, but yeah I did miss you what's behind your back anyway ? * look at him confuse*"
Sonic: " oh this ... * move the bag behind his back and show him * it's our lunch !"
Shadow: " our lunch !? Didn't you usually have lunch with them ? Why did you want to have lunch with me ?"
Sonic: " because I want to spend more time with you Shadow, and I told them that I won't be back until tomorrow"
Shadow: " why will you do that ? Don't you that Your friends will find that suspicious?"
Sonic: " well it's not the first time that I do it and I've a special surprise for you but to this surprise to be perfect, * rest both of his hand on Shadow chest after putting the bag down* we have to spend it together and specially today, we can do whatever you want, we can go running or racing in the canyon, or just going for a walk, or.. there's still some Eggman Robot that didn't reached his labs we can destroy them just for fun, or-"
Shadow: " wait a second Sonic, what surprise? And why specially today ? * warp his arms around Sonic waist still confuse*"
Sonic: " stop asking lot question, you'll ruin the surprise, you'll find out tonight * wink* so what do you want to do? "
Shadow Stop asking questions as he enjoys the moment with him, after giving him a lovely light kiss the both went out of the cave and find a nice place for lunch.
The day pass and the two hedgehogs enjoy their day doing what ever Shadow wanted to do, even Sonic didn't like the "swimming" part but he didn't anyway jus for him, until they fall asleep hugging each other taking a nice nap under the shadow of tree, nothing matter for them just to be together
After few hours the sun start to fall and the night cover the sky with his dark blue colors and his little stars, the time was close.
Sonic and Shadow were walking from the forest toward the beach for minutes after they wake up from their little nap, as close they get Sonic garb a piece of tissue and cover Shadow eyes as he grab his hand and walk toward the beach for few minutes as much he hate that but he trust Sonic more than anyone in this planet.
They both arrive there and Sonic remove the tissue from his eyes showing him the huge moon covering his other half with the wave of the ocean, and a little picnic with candles and roses pétales all around the place, but only that, there was a lot of little object that represent their memories, like the fake bracelet ring, a little toy of Shadow and Sonic Cars, pictures of the together, etc..
Shadow was pretty surprised as Sonic drag him to the picnic place, they sit after remove their shoes and gloves, they have their dinner together, they talk, they laugh.
" Hey Shadow Look !!!"
Sonic point to the sky as they look a rain of shooting stars covering the dark night sky making more beautiful and more shiny, this's what Sonic was preparing this whole time.
Sonic: " what do you think?"
Shadow: " it's so beautiful, it's this what you're working all the time?"
Sonic: " not all I still have one last thing to do"
Shadow: " what you gonna do?"
Sonic: " well I'm gonna catch a shooting star for you, but you gonna a have to close your eyes"
Shadow: " again *sigh* fine * close his eyes"
Sonic: " don't cheat!"
He take out from his bag a little plush that look exactly like his dear friend Maria, holding a moon flower that shine every time moon appear, he sit in front of his lover and tell to open, as he did his eyes widen open not excepting at his from him

" I catch the shinier one for you ! "
Shadow's heart start to beat really fast as he blush holding the little plushie and pull it close to him, Sonic sit close to him, watching him hugging the plushie as a warm tears roll down on his cheeks, a smile draw on both of their faces, he suddenly feels Shadow arm around his waist pulling him closer to him as he received a lovely warm kiss on his lips melting him completely until he brook the kiss
" Thank you Sonic, it's the most beautiful night of live"
They hug each other and watch the show together, the fresh summer breath of the night caressing their quills, the calm sound of the oceanic wave, with the warm light of the moon making show more peaceful and romantic for bot of the hedgehog.
" You Know Shadow they're watching over you... ...so do I... ...always be on your side"
