Bret: what

Savannah: did you and mom talk about the birthday party that is happening this weekend

Bret: no not yet

Savannah: why

Bret: because we both have been busy working lately

Savannah: oh ok but when you guys are not busy can you guys think about it please

Bret: yeah we will

Savannah: thank you

Bret: your welcome

Living Room

Julie: what did Savannah wanted

Bret: she wanted to go to a party

Julie: what kind of party

Bret: to a birthday party

Julie: oh what did you tell her

Bret: I told her that you and I can talk about it and see if she can go

Julie: ok are you going to let her go

Bret: I don't know yet

Julie: why

Bret: Because I don't know who this boy is or who his parents are and I'm not going to let my little girl go to someone house that I don't know

Julie: so I take that as a no that she's not going

Bret: I didn't say that that

Julie: it sounds like you are

Bret: what if I don't want her going at all

Julie: come on Bret let her go she wants to and you can trust her

Bret: yeah I know that I can trust her it's the boy that I don't trust

Julie: what if she invited the boy over for dinner and you can meet him that way

Bret: ok fine

Julie: great now let's go tell Savannah

Upstairs

Savannah: hey what do you guys want

Julie: your father and I want to talk to you about something

Savannah: about what

Bret: about the party and if I do let you

Savannah: ok what about it

Julie: I suggested that we can invite him over and have dinner with him and his parents and so your dad and I can meet him

Savannah: ok that sounds fair

Bret: great

Savannah: what about the party

Bret: I haven't decided on that yet

Savannah: when will you

Bret: we will see after I meet him

Savannah: ok

Next day at school
Thomas: so what did your dad say about the party

Savannah: he didn't really give me an answer

Thomas: why not

Savannah: because he wants to meet you and your parents first and then he will think about the party situation

Thomas: ok

Savannah: what party is it really

Thomas: why

Savannah: I'm just wondering

Thomas: do you really want me to tell you

Savannah: yes

Thomas: ok so it's an alcohol kind of party

Savannah: ok do you still want me to go

Thomas: I don't know do you still want to come

Savannah: yes

Thomas: but do you drink alcohol

Savannah: not but I would like to try some

Thomas: but what happens when your parents finds out

Savannah: they won't find out as long you and the people at the party won't tell them ok

Thomas: ok so I guess that I will see you later or at the party

Savannah: ok bye
