Chapter 9

Chapter 9-Thanks

It was a couple hours later, after school when me and Leo go to the Park and hang out. Melissa playing at the equipment while we sit under a tree. I snuggle into Leo as I sigh, thinking of earlier.

"I'm sorry about earlier Leo." I say, sighing more after I say it. I'm not looking at him but I assume he could be frowning. "Hey, don't be sorry. I'm glad your okay." He responds and pulls me into a hug.

     I hug back and smile, "You could've got hurt, or something. How come they let you in?" I ask, and he shrugs, "We're dating and I made that clear. And I was sure I knew enough about you to help." He says, making me nod and smile.

     "I'm glad they allowed you in, but you should be careful. I don't want to hurt you by accident because of those meltdowns." I say and rub my arm, frowning at the possibility. I look at him and he frowns.

     "If I can make you feel better or make you safe to your self, then I won't be careful. I'd rather you hit me than yourself." He says, rubbing my cheek softly as he frowns. "Thank you." I say softly.

     "I would try the same, but you don't seem to be as uncontrolled as me." I say and he continues frowning but nods in response. "You have no idea." He says and laughs after a second of saying it.

     I nod, laughing with him, I do have no idea tho. I want to know more. "Will you tell me?" I say, forgetting to say any specifics and he tilts his head but tries to figure it out as to not seem 'dumb'.

     "Will you tell me more? Like about you." I ask and specify, and he makes a face like 'OH! I knew that' and nods. I giggle and kiss his cheek. "It's okay Leo. That was my bad." I say and laugh.

     He laughs as well and nods. We watch Melissa play much like last time, not sure what to talk about. Melissa waves at us as she looks over for a second.

     I smile and wave back, Leo doing the same. She waves again and goes back to playing, I smile glad she's having fun. I go on my phone and scroll through my apps, kinda bored. "What do you wanna do?" I ask Leo, bored and he shrugs.

     I groan and laugh in response. "I'm bored." I say, the third time but first time saying it aloud. He nods, "Same. We could play with Melissa?" He asks and a shrug and nod. "Sure why not."

     I respond before we get up and go and play with Melissa. We go down the slides, go on the 'zipline', and play make believe. Melissa seemed ecstatic that we were playing with her. I smiled at her.

     She giggles and smiles as we all play together. Eventually I get tired and have a final slide down with her before saying we should go home. "Wanna come over?" I ask him and he responds 'yes', both fast and with hesitation.

     I smile and we get out things, walking to my house. "I'm glad you said yes. There's time left in the day to hang out." I say, making him laugh and nod. "Of course." He responds as we walk down the roads.

     Melissa hums and holds my hand. Once we get to my house I help Melissa to her room and I put our stuff away. I led Leo to my room and close my door, pulling him into a hug and plopping onto my bed.

     He laughs and I giggle, humming at him. "I'm gonna be that person.. How's school going?" I say and he groans at me, frowning at me. I laugh, "That bad, huh?" I say again and he rolls his eyes.

     "It's okay. I'm just working with what I can." He says and I nod and kiss his forehead, snuggling into him. He hums and rubs my hair, "I love you." I say softly into him and snuggle into him.

      "I love you too." He says and I giggle happily at him and he hums and giggles with me. I get yo and stretch, yawning a little. "Do you wanna watch anything? Need a drink at all?" I ask, humming.

     He shrugs, "A drink maybe, we can watch what you wanna watch." He responds and I nod, I go get me and him a soda before coming back and turning on Netflix. I'm not sure what to watch.

     I hum and shrug as I scroll through. "What should we watch?" I ask and he shrugs again, I groan and roll my eyes. "Weirdo." I say and choose a show, Big Mouth, why not. I shrug and lay back next to him.

     He smiles and laughs, booping me and humming. We watch Big Mouth laughing in awkwardness at a lot of his content. Cringy but hilarious I love this show.

     My mom comes up and knocks, I fall off my bed, not sure why it scared me. "Come in!" I say and she comes in and laughs. "Dinner time hun." She says and I hum.

     I smile at her and nod, getting Leo and going to eat. We had chicken enchiladas for dinner, I LOVE chicken enchiladas. Melissa was humming as we all eat.

     Dad clears his throat. "So, school?" He asks me and Leo, I finish my plate and shrug. "Some rough days but it's been okay I guess." I respond and take a drink.

      He nods and looks at Leo as he eats. "Oh, My schooling has been alright." He responds as he eats and finishes. My dad nods and finishes his plate.

     After my mom and Melissa finish I take the dishes and Leo helps me do them. "Thanks for coming over today.." I say and kiss his cheek, he giggles and nods. "Of course!" He says and kisses my cheek as well.
