His face fell in sorrow. There was a depressing silence. He got off his throne and walked over to the balcony that has a view of the kingdom. I followed him along and he explained in a weakened voice.

"It was her birthday and many people were there. We all danced, ate, sang and she and I were having the time of our lives. Though Armani has a border with another kingdom named Bedeliah. They came storming into Armani because the queen and I had some... unfinished business. She wanted them to take her instead rather than destroying the kingdom.. and it was the last day I had ever seen her."

He looked down onto the kingdom seeing children run around, elderly's walking, and families playing, and guards doing their job. I could see his eyes becoming watery and he wiped his face. "But that was years ago, I don't know what she has become now though.." I wondered for a moment. "Then just take her back? What's so hard with it?". Elias chuckled at me as if I gave a ridiculous solution, that's because I did. "You see my child, it's not that simple. On the other side of the border, there are monsters and the border can destroy any Armanian. it's either any creature can pass through other than us". Then the young girl's eyes widened. "Dad! If Kace is not Armanian then that means he can pass the border and save mom!" Elias turned his head over to the young girl and asked, ''Aella, you think it's that easy? The border is filled with many dangers that no human could comprehend.." I came up with an idea that shot into my head...

"If I save your wife, then can you get me back home?"

Aella's eyes sparked with excitement. "I will help you prepare. Passing the border is no easy task. Many soldiers have died trying." I gulped. "I hope this will be worth it.." I said. Elias kept quiet, I could see he believed that I would die trying to pass the border. "Don't worry Kace, I know this kingdom quite well. There will be many people ready to supply you with the things you need." Aella reassured as she patted my shoulder. I blushed. Does she really believe in me? My own mother never did...

Aella clapped her hands together and ran up to the golden gates and announced that I was going to leave to save the queen. All the Armanians that were nearby looked surprised and cheered in celebration. My stomach began to twist in regret. The border seemed scary. Lightning. Thunder, darkness and monsters to face.. What if I didn't succeed? I would be letting down a whole kingdom... I can't turn back now. As I left, Elias leaned against the balcony, he turned to me and said. "Kace, I trust you. If you come back with her, you can go back home. Don't give up and keep going." He smiled and turned around. "Aella will show where you will be staying." Aella grabbed my hand and flew out of the castle. "ARE YOU SURE THIS IS SAFE?? I hollered at Aella. I looked down and I could see the people were cheering as Aella and the other guards were moving and flying out of the kingdom. "You'll be fine! I won't let you go." Aella exclaimed.

She flew to a little cottage in the village, it had a for rent sign. It was surrounded by other houses that looked exactly like it. Aella landed at the front of the house. "Here you are, your new home! This neighborhood is great, so don't worry about not being accepted." Aella said with a smile. She handed me two bags that were filled with essential supplies. "Me and the maids decorated it while you and dad were at the palace." I nodded and took the two bags and placed them down. Aella smiled and said "I hope you come back with my mother". I looked back at her. "You can count on me." I rested both of my hands on her shoulders and smiled at her. "Oh- uh sorry." I stammered and quickly let go of her. "Well, I'm gonna go unpack now.. See you later?" Aella nodded and flew off back to her cottage to stay in. I unlocked the door to the cottage and sighed. As I unpacked my stuff I started to wonder about my mother. Is she ok? Does she even know I crashed? I can just imagine the lecture when she finds out I crashed the plane. I placed an old photo of my family that I keep in my pocket beside my nightstand. Surprised it didn't disappear during the crash. I got ready for bed and slipped into the pajamas Aella gave me. They had teddy bears on it. Really Aella? I shrugged. It was better than sleeping in this uniform that was ripped. I looked out my bedroom window. The stars have never been so clear. I yawned and dozed off to sleep.
