King Elias broke me and Aella up. I couldn't believe that I had kissed Aella. My heart was fluttering and my head felt like it was spinning literally. I shook my head and Aella gave me a quick hug. King Elias brought me to the stage that was in the village courtyard.
"Today, we have witnessed bravery and honour. This young man has done the most amazing thing, bringing back our queen and my wife." King Elias declared. His royal advisor ran up to the stage and handed him a golden medal.
He looked at me proudly and said "Kace, hero of Armani, I give you the Armani Heroes Award." He handed me the golden necklace as I took it with pride.
Aella looked at me happily and her face was read to me like she wanted to cry. Alastair and his friends were cheering loudly. Alvie was off to the side clapping her hands with a big smile. This time she didn't have a ridiculously large binder. The crowd cheered my name and blew these big foghorns. I stood on the stage, proud. I finally had proven to myself that I could do something. Not to my mother or my friends.. but to me. Queen Chiara went up to the stage and squeezed me tightly. it almost felt like she was squeezing the life out of me! She began to notice and let loose of me but still hugged me. "Thank you Kace for bringing me back to my kingdom and family." I could hear Alastair's loud voice in the background yelling and even screaming with his pals.
Everyone clapped and cheered for me. I felt like a hero, I felt like a winner. I bowed down and placed the golden metal around my neck. King Elias pat me on the back. "Since you saved my wife and faced Queen Morana. You can use the plane to get back to Earth." King Elias confirmed. I forgot all about that. I didn't want to leave this place, it was like my home. My face began to sadden and I looked down.
Elias looked at me and replied, "I know how much you are going to miss us. That's why you will promise to always keep us in your heart and mind.." I began to tear up but even though I tried to wipe my tears away but they just kept coming . Elias laughed and gave me a hug as Chiara and Aella joined in along with Alastair and Alvie. "We are going to miss this princey boy so much," Alastair teased. I rolled my eyes jokingly from the princey boy joke. He punched my shoulder and hugged me tighter.
Alvie held out a camera and pointed it in front of us. "nuhmuhseets!" Alvie smiled. I looked confused. "What does that mean?" I asked. "It's Armanian for 'big smile''' Alvie said matter-of-factly. I shrugged and followed along. We took a few photos. They printed out of Alvie's camera and she handed them to me. After all the love filling my heart, I walked to the plane and waved goodbye to my home away from home...
Armani.
"Wait! Kace!" Aella yelled. I turned around and saw her standing with her black hair waving in the wind. "I just wanted to say how much I am going to miss you... so I got something for you" She gave me a mini necklace and it had my initials on it. "I know it isn't much, but I want you to keep this in memory of me." She gave a warm smile that made me hug her tightly. She hugged me tightly and waved back at me flying into the sky and everyone cheering in glee.
I waved to everyone and went in the small white plane. I carried all the gifts the Armanians gave to me into the plane. I lifted my hand giving a sign to Alvie that I was ready to go home. The Armanians were all waving goodbye. Alastair looked like he was going to chase the plane but Alvie was holding him back. Aella was with her family waving goodbye. I waved one last goodbye and started the plane to go back where I came from..
