Nat's POV
Brennen got here about an hour ago and hasn't said a thing to me. The only one who noticed is Devyn
"Hey did you guys fight?"
"Yeah he got jealous I slept in Jakes bed"
"Oh I see. Well don't worry you will have the whole night to sort things out" she winked
"Dev I told you the only reason I agreed with us being alone all night is to test my theory"
"True. If he wants you to do it, which is probably what's happening, what are you gouging to do?"
"I honestly have no idea."
"Okay let's go sit with them and we'll see don't worry "

Brennen's POV
I'm sitting here playing video games with Colby and jake killing jake all the time even though we are on the same team and they're getting angrier by the time

All I can think about is Nat. I mean I really like her but I don't see a future between us. Considering she's my best friend's cousin, I think I should end things. Now actually

Nat's POV
"I'm going to the bathroom" I heard brennen say and turned around to see if he would even look at me
"Woah-"
"Can we talk?" He asked me
"Um yeah sure let's go to colbys room"
"So Nat listen I need to tell you something. I really like you but honestly I'm not the type of guy for you. He have different needs and I'm sorry but I don't see a future in this relationship"

Wow. What just happened?

"Um I- I didn't see that coming. I appreciate that you told me and didn't lead me on. I can see your point and I agree that we don't have a future"
"We can stay friends if you want. I'm really sorry."
"No it's fine, really. Yeah I guess we can stay friends. We can't avoid each other anyways"
"Haha yeah that's true. Let's go downstairs now"

We hugged and went downstairs. Honestly, I'm relieved in a way. I didn't want to lose my virginity to him because of his reputation. Yeah he's hot and all but i think I deserve someone better

Colby s POV
"Hey Colby can I tell you something?"
"Yeah nat what's wrong?"
"Brennen broke up with me"
"WHAT?!"
"Shhhh no it's okay I'm fine I just wanted to tell you and I guess he won't be able to come here tonight. But I'm fine, really"
"Son of a bitch. Alright I guess. I see you took it well. That's good. Yeah we'll see what we do tonight thanks for telling me" he said as he hugged me
"I'm going to help Devyn in the kitchen"
"Love you Nat"
"Love you too Colbs"

Nats POV
I walk in the kitchen and instead of devyn I see jake sitting on the counter shirtless on his phone.

That's when I realized. I liked him. Like I realllly liked him. Shit.

"Oh hey Nat. Didn't see you there" he said as he got off the counter and put a t-shirt on
"Hey jake it's fine. What are you doing here alone?"
"I was ummm I was just thinking something"
"Oh okay. Hey jake, why are you all going out tonight?"
"I'm I don't know if I can tell you"
"Yeah well I'll be staying alone in here and I'd like to know how fast you will be able to get here in case anything happens"
"Alone? I thought brennen was going to get here"
"Yeah umm we broke up actually"

Jakes POV
This has to be a dream
"You broke up?! I mean I'm sorry to hear that, what happened? When?"
"Hahah like a few minutes ago he said that he can't see a future in us and to be honest I agree so I'm fine now"
"I'm glad you're okay. Um look I don't want you staying here alone in the night I don't think it's safe"
"Yeah I know I told Colby and he said he will figure something out"
"You know I can stay here with you, if you want of course"

Shit why did I say that I think I will throw up

Nat's POV
Butterflies. As soon as he said that I felt a knot in my stomach.
"Uh I mean if you don't have to do anything more important that babysit me, yeah I'd like to have someone here I'm terrified"
"Then it's settled I'll stay here with you. Let me tell Colby"
