The first bit of spring was filling the air with the smell of fresh cut grass and the first blooming flowers. Buck was already early at work as he took some time alone in the firehouse.

There were these rare moments in that building when it was all quiet and he was alone with the last bit of the night shift.

He was just checking his uniform as Eddie sushed past him

"Sorry I am late..." the tall latin man was all out of breath, sweat was forming around the color of his grey shirt.

Buck rose one eyebrow confused, the taller male, his best friend didn't realise he was in fact an hour too early for his shift

" You realise you are too early?" Buck said as he leaned against the doorframe of their changing room, arms crossed in front of his chest.

Eddie checked his watch, looked up to Buck and back down to his watch "I did drop off Christopher too early at Abuelas place" He moaned "That's why she was that confused..." he said, mostly to himself.

"I guess you are the confused one, Edmundo!" Buck commented with a soft smirk on his lips.

Eddie glared at Buckley and took off his shirt, the cold air in the changing room making him shiver slightly.

"Something isn't right with you the last week... what is it?" Buck said, walking over to where Eddie was standing. HE looked at the man that he spent more time with than his own sister and sat down.

"Christopher hasn't been sleeping well since a week. He dreams about his Mom, he misses her and it's not easy to fill this void she left in his life. He keeps me awake and asks me a bunch of things about her. In one way it hurts thinking and talking about her... she was a complicated Person, we were a complicated couple but he deserves to know that no matter what she did and whatever she wanted to do she loved him." he explained, his hands constantly playing with the shirt in his hands.

"Hey, you know what..." Buck said, knowing Eddie felt miserable. He gently placed one hand onto Eddie's arm.

"You, the Kiddo and me will use our free weekend to drive to the water park, then we get some nice Take away when Kiddo is in bed we watch the Lakers game and have a men's night" Buckly beamed as if he just had the best idea ever. "What ya sayin'?"

Eddie nodded and smiled, A day with Buckley and Christopher seemed to be the right thing for the Family at that moment.

"Saturday it is then!" he called out with a foolish smile, kinda excited to spend some time with Buck away from the Firehouse or the bar.

And so the last days of the week went on. Buck noticed that Eddie did mention their little adventure every now and then. The browned eyed man seemed excited, like he wasn't in any kind of fun lately.

" What+s the thing with Eddie lately?" Hen asked when she, Buck and Chimney watched the News Friday evening. The day was quiet and no one really expected any emergencies.

"I guess he has some daddy issues..." Buck said watching the weather

"I guess you mean Father issues? Like taking care of Christopher?" Hen asked, not sure if Buck realised what he just said

"Yeah thats what I meant.... I said that didnt I?" He asked, looking up from the screen.

Both Hen and Chimney shock their heads.

"Anyways yeah he is okay, Christopher is not sleeping well lately and that is something that bothers him. We will be doing something this weekend so he and Chritopher will feel a little better"

Buck said and stole some potato chips from Chimneys package.

Buck as well was excited, he couldn't remember the last time he was in a waterpark. There was something about this trip that got him even more excited, he wasn't sure if it was about the opportunity to surprise Christopher and create a good time for him or if it was to just hang out with Eddie, who by now was far from just his best friend.

Buck wasn't sure what kind of friendship/Family Thing they were having, but he never wanted to miss any moment of it.

And so Buck was way too early at Eddies Pace the following morning. He hadn't parked his car completely when Eddie already opened the door for the slightly smaller firefighter.

"Good Morning Uncle Buck!" Christopher greated him when he just stepped his foot out of the car

"Good Morning Buddy!" Buckley smirked and got down on his knees to hug his little friend "Have you grown already?!" He joked and looked into the boy's smiling face.

"Nooohoooo" Christopher laughed "You saw me Monday Buck, I can't grow so fast, then I don't fit in your Car and you can't tame on a surprise Trip you and daddy planned for me!" He announced, sounding as excited as Buck felt

"Did you pack everything?" Buck asked and looked over Christophers shoulder over to Eddie who was standing in the doorway watching the two boys interact.

"Yeah Daddy did, he didn't want me to see what he packed, I think it's a surprise too, even though it's not my birthday yet!" He smirked.

Moments later the three of them sat in the car, singing "Sweet Carolin" from the top of their lungs.

Buck did think about everything, and so did Eddie. Both men packed snacks and drinks. SO Christopher was on cloud nine when he saw all the potato chips, fruit juices and gummy bears.

Eddie gave Buck the permission days ago to be the one to choose the Waterpark, since the blue eyed boy was almost as excited as a kid.

Eddie hat to take a deep breath as he saw what kind of Waterpark Buckley had chosen.

"I hope this one is okay?!" Buck said nervously and scratched the back of his head.

"Are you kidding me?!" Eddie smiled. Buck was reckless and sometimes foolish and impulsive but he was the most thoughtful man he ever met. Evan Buckley did manage to surprise him every time. He chose a Waterpark where kids with special needs were able to move freely and experience freedom in the water without any crutches or bandaids.

"He will love it here Buck" Eddie said, placing a hand on Buck's shoulder.
