cheek to cheek
you to me
relationships worsen
it was fine at the start
things went sour
we grew apart
new relationships flower
we both moved on
to new friends and different people
I still felt you were gone
I tried to repair us
your efforts were feeble
but when i saw you in town
in your eyes i could tell
you missed me, too
your face bore a frown
so i smiled back at you
and in that moment i felt
that we were the same
back to the old days
of giggles and games
but i was upset by your wide-eyed gaze
regardless of appearance
i know in my heart
that we both regret growing apart
but it happens to everyone
disappearance.
(A/N): This is a poem that can be interpreted different ways. I'm never really confident in my poetry so I'd love to hear what you guys think. If you don't like it, please be honest. I'm not asking for hate, constructive criticism is the idea. Although if you do like it, then I want to know that, too. Anyway, this is dedicated to Noelle for being encouraging and motivational all the time with my writing, especially with my poetry or things outside of my comfort zone. So thanks so much for being there Noelle. This poem was written because I was talking with Noelle about how sad it is that friendships go sour or just fade out. It's happened to me before and I think it happens to many. This is also for any type of relationship. Hope you enjoy. x
