I woke up to my annoying alarm. It was 7:00 am. I pressed snooze and went back to sleep.
"Five more minutes," I mumbled.
After a while, I finally woke up. I turned on my phone to look at the time and dropped my phone. "7:49 already?! Imma be late! Why didn't Dad wake me up?!"
I quickly took a shower and i braided my hair into a mini alfro

I ran downstairs and saw a note on the table. I picked it up. It was from Dad.
"Y/N, if you're reading this, you most likely woke up late. I didn't wake you up because that's your problem to fix. You better hurry up before I mark you absent :)"

"Ugh," I groaned. I stuffed the note in the trash and ran out the house. On the way to school i heard people cheering the class names including mines.
"Nice job on the sports festival, girlie!" Someone said. "You were very close." I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. I ran all the way to school and finally made it inside the class, sweating and panting.
"I made it," I panted.
The whole class stared at me. Dad just chuckled.
"There you are. I was going to mark you absent."
I flipped him off and sat down, putting my head on the cool desk.
"You were really close," Mina said in front of me.
"Yeah. Overslept."
Mina giggled. "And Aizawa sensei didn't wake you up? That's harsh."
She turned at Kiri and Sero. "Anyways, did anyone else have people staring at them after the sports festival?"
"Yes!" Kiri exclaimed. "Some people kept saying my name on my way to school."
"I got consoled with 'don't mind' by fucking elementary school kids," Sero frowned.
"Okay, class," Dad started. "Settle down. Today's hero class is a little special."
I groaned, "What now?"
Denki panicked, "Do we have a quiz?! I didn't study!"
He shook his head. "Today, you'll be deciding your hero names."
The class roared into cheering and clapping.
"This is related to the draft nominations by pros I mentioned the other day. The nominations will truly start mattering only after you've gained some experience and your adaptable fighting ability is judged during your 2nd and 3rd years. In other words, the nominations you're getting this year are more akin to expressions of 'interest' in your future potential."
