We did a couple more things before leaving. The swing ride, the funhouse, teacups, darts, and a roller coaster. I hated two of those.

Darren texted me. "You guys alright?" it said. I sent him a picture of Harlow eating cotton candy. "Just like old times. When will you guys be back? It's almost midnight?" He asks. "I don't know. We are leaving now and home is 30 minutes from here. So about 11:45 maybe midnight but probably not" I said. I'm surprised he hasn't dragged me home. "Alright," he replied. I put my phone away.

"Mani look" Harlow pointed at a little booth with the biggest blue teddy bear by it. "We have to get it," I said. "We?" she said, confused. "I'm gonna win it before you" I looked at her. We ran towards the booth at the same time. "Stop running all the time" Georgie whined behind us.

The game was ring toss. We paid the man and he gave us six rings each. Harlow made the first two tosses. I made three. She missed. I missed it twice. She got two more. We both were on our last toss.

"Declan" I tapped his shoulder. "Mm," he stood next to me. "Throw this". I passed him my last ring. When Harlow saw she gave hers to Georgie. "Oh lord," Georgie mumbled. Declan laughed.

They looked at each other and then threw the rings at the same time. Neither of them got it. Harlow squealed. I frowned. She won. She had gotten one more than me. I hugged her. "You got it! Yay! Good job Har!" I said excitedly. At least one of us got a prize. She didn't end up picking the big blue bear. She picked a long green snake and hung it on her neck.

"You guys go to the car. I'll be there in a second" Declan said. "Are you sure I can stay with you?" I said, looking up at him. I bet his parents are both very tall. "No little bug. It's okay. Go." He said, looking at me. I frowned slightly but turned to catch up to Harlow and Georgie.

We got to the car surprisingly quickly. I didn't realize how much my feet hurt until I sat down.

Where is Declan? What did he have to do?

Ugh. I'm so nosy.

We talked about music. Georgie and Harlow argued about what song to play. I just sat here worried about Declan. "Mani. Calm down. He is probably in the bathroom or getting a snack. You have no clue how much food that boy can eat" Georgie said. "Once I saw him eat ten slices of pizza in like ten minutes," Harlow said unconsciously talking with her hands. They laughed at the same time. "Okay" I fiddled with my phone. The trunk opened, then slammed shut, then Declan appeared by the passenger's seat. He got in the car and said "Drive".

The car ride was long and loud. Since Georgie was driving he let Harlow play music.

When we got to our houses Georgie went with Harlow and Declan came with me. We silently walked to my door. "Do you want to come inside?" I asked him out of the blue. "I can't," he said.

You don't want to is what he means to say.

"I want to but my mother is home. Georgie and I have to deal with some stuff" he smiled. Once we got to the door he said "Stay right here and close your eyes". What the heck. My eyes widened. "Don't flatter yourself, little bug" he winked and ran off. After a minute he shouted from far away "Close your eyes now". Which I did. I heard him walk closer to me.

"Okay open," he said. He was standing there with the big blue teddy bear in his hands. He had the biggest smile on his face and his eyes were sparkling. "Declan," I said. I had zero words. "It's not for me silly, it's yours" he shoved it towards me. "Thank you." I smiled. I hugged the bear. It smelled like cotton candy and I loved it. "You know you didn't have to do that right. Let me pay you back" I looked at him. "Uh, I think you're a little slow. It's a gift. You are not going to pay me back." he patted my head. I swatted his hand away. "Thank you" I smiled even more. "Anytime". We stood there awkwardly for a while.

His phone buzzed and rang repeatedly. "Bug I have to go. I'm sorry I wish I could stay. I can't." he frantically kissed my forehead. We said goodbye and he practically ran to the car.
