real life.

soleil sighed as she set her phone down. she knew she was being dramatic, and knew alex was right and only looking out for her.

karl and sol had wrapped up at party city and were currently out for lunch. he had noticed how she looked bothered by something. "everything okay?"

"hm?" she looked up, and gave a quick reassuring smile. "oh uh, yeah. everything's okay."

what was she supposed to say? yeah, alex doesn't want me seeing you because of what you've done to me in the past. of course he means well! i just want to give you the benefit of the doubt although you may not—

interrupting her thoughts was the waiter bringing by their drinks. they thanked them and when they left, karl had asked again, "are you sure?"

"no? yes? i don't know.. i'm kind of being a bitch towards alex, and now i feel bad about it.." sol admitted with a frown as she took a sip of her drink. "and he doesn't deserve it.. he's a great friend.."

"well i don't know the situation, but if you know it's an.. unnecessary argument, then try fixing it."

"yeah when i get home i'll apologize and stuff.."

"cool, cool. uhm so, have you thought about the cake you're gonna get for his birthday?"

soleil's eyes widened, it was very clear to karl she had forgotten about that aspect of birthdays. he chuckled a bit as she began to panic, "well shoot! uhm.. well.. i think it's too late to like— fuck—"

"hey hey," he reached over to softly squeeze her hand. he locks eyes with her and reassures, "it'll be okay. he likes red velvet cake? we can just make it at my house."

sol's eyes sparkled, smiling she puts her hand on top of his. "you're so right! we can just make him that!"

they hadn't even realized they were holding one another hands until the waiter had come by with their appetizers. the twos cheeks burned up.
