I'm not good a lot of things, but I do believe that there are some things I'll never be good at. Like beginnings, for example, I never know when to start something because I never really know how I want to start it. When I finally do, I've probably thought it over so much that I've missed my chance to speak. Oh, there's another thing I'm not good at, speaking.
Communication. One of the most important components of human living, and I suck at it. Everything is just so misconceived. For example, can I walk down the street and smile at everyone without looking creepy? Can I walk into a store or a restaurant and compliment the workers without them thinking I'm flirting or trying to get a discount? Do people even think these kinds of things? What's okay to do, and what isn't; Who decides?
When someone asks you, "How's your day?" is the natural response a simple "I'm okay"? How do you say you aren't "okay"? And no, I don't just mean you're having a bad day. How do you say that even though you wear no casts, you somehow still feel broken. In a time when your stomach is full, and you're around plenty, who call your name or ask for your story, how do you say that you still feel empty?
How do you tell the person you thought was your shoulder to cry on, or as dear to you as your favorite sweater that you thought you were losing her, when you were actually losing yourself. How do you tell someone you know that you'll let them down over, and over, and you don't know if you can fix that? How do you tell someone that they deserve better? Here's four things that I've learned.
1) You're so mean when you talk about yourself; You are wrong.
2)You decide what's right; you decide what's good.
3)The only person that can fix you is yourself.
4)We accept the love we think we deserve.
This is what we are taught. The only thing left to do is to believe in it.
