Y/N Malfoy

The Sorting

My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. As I was looking around I noticed Luna had this calm surrounding her, as if she didn't have a worry in the world. I sunk into her peace like a blanket. I closed my eyes and pictured getting sorted into Slytherin and sitting next to Draco. I took a couple of deep breaths and calmed down. While I was thinking about this we were walking up to the great hall. A cat was standing in the hall, I heard little gasps from every area of the corridor as the cat morphed into Professor McGonagall.
"Welcome, first years, to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Soon you will be sorted into your houses. There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Some of you may have heard horror stories from older siblings." she said at the end giving a glance towards Ginny. "But the sorting ceremony is painless and you will not need your wands. Now let us go into your future."
We walked into the great hall and all eyes were on us. My head immediately dipped out of habit to make a curtain of hair to cover my face. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. I could barely hear what the sorting hat was singing. I was only dragged out of my thoughts when I heard Professor McGonagall's disembodied voice saying;
"Malfoy, Y/N"  I jerked my head up, trying to control my breathing. I slowly walked up to the podium where the hat lay. I slowly picked it up and placed it on my head.
"Ah." said a voice directly in my ear which could only be the hat's voice. "Lots of determination, loyalty, lots of bravery, some cunning as well. Very smart. Hm well lets see. Better be. Gryffindor!" the house was said out loud so that everyone could hear. The hall went silent after my house was said. Murmurs went around like wildfire.
"A Malfoy in Gryffindor?"
"Is that possible?"
"Is she like Draco?"
These and many more could be heard. Slowly my brother stood up and started to clap, he was smiling at me as if he was very proud to have a Gryffindor sister. Then the Gryffindors followed suit. Slowly at first and then they welcomed me into their house. Whistling and clapping. I quickly took my seat next to a bushy haired girl.
"Hello, I'm Hermione Granger. You're a Malfoy but you must be alright because you're in Gryffindor. Oh look here comes Ginny Weasley no doubt she will be in-"
"Gryffindor." the hat shouted as soon as it was placed upon her redhead.  Ginny grinned and came trotting over to us happily. She took a seat next to me.
"Congratulations on making Gryffindor." She said still grinning at me "I knew you weren't as bad as your brother."
"Whatever you have heard about my brother is not right. I'm sure I've heard worse about your's." I responded with my head held high "Ron Weasley always getting in trouble with Pottah." I sneered giving the famous Malfoy smirk "The Weasley twins, Fred and George always pulling pranks and getting detentions. Am I correct? Costing lots of points for Gryffindor house. Right?"
"Don't mention my brothers again." Ginny glared at me drawing her wand.
"Aw little Weasley is angry now? What are you going to do? You don't know any spells." I smirked
"No, but I do. Leave the Weasleys alone, Malfoy." Hermione glared down at me. I rolled my eyes at her. I moved  away from them and sat over next to a smaller Gryffindor and he squeaked in fright.
"Let's count how many times I roll my eyes the first day." I thought, rolling my eyes again.
Finally I just got fed up with the stares I was getting and just walked over to my brothers table. I didn't get yelled at so it must be okay. I walked over and just sat next to Draco. He took one look at me and said.
"Let's go."
We walked out of the hall and I started crying.
"Dray mum and dad are going to be so mad. I'm the family disappointment. You probably hate me. Everyone in Gryffindor hates me." I was sobbing into his chest because he had pulled me into a hug. I could feel him crying with me so I held him too. We weren't evil. We were just broken.
