Rays of sunlight came in through the curtains of your window, brightening the room, and most importantly giving you a rude awakening. You stretched for a minute, yawning.

Once your eyes fully adjusted to the brightness, you looked over to your right, expecting to see your favorite demon friend on the floor.

Your slight smile turned into a frown when he wasn't on the floor. The sleeping area you arranged on the floor was gone, blankets and pillows neatly put away.

If you were being honest, it was disappointing that he left. You were excited to get closer with him and even become best friends.

Right when you were about to go back to sleep, Childe aggressively opened your door.

"(Y/n)- oh, you're awake? Sorry, guess I forgot to close your curtains after cleaning!"

Your frown turned back into a smile, as you greeted him, getting up out of bed.

"Ready for our date today?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"It's not a date, dummy." You chuckled.

He covered his face with his arm, and sniffled.

"I made you breakfast and- and you won't even go on a date with me?!"

Your eyes instantly brightened, and he couldn't help but smile a little at how excited you looked.

"Eggs, Pancakes, and (your favorite food ;)!"

You gasped, booking it to the kitchen. He jogged into the room to see you  happily pulling out plates for the both of you.

He sat down at the table, and you sat across from him. All that could be heard was you two talking, joking, and laughing at each other.

"You ready?"

"You bet!" he shouts.

It was finally time for your trip to the mall, and wherever else you two wanted to go after. Childe wouldn't stop suggesting it was a date, so you gave in and called it one.

The both of you ran out of the apartment, locking the door of course, and then down the street. There was no need for car rides or anything like that as the area with all the fun stuff in town wasn't that far of a walk.

"No cheating with your demon tactics, but catch me and I'll kiss ya!" You teased.

Boy did you underestimate him. Even without his crazy levitation and all that, he was QUICK. The man was determined.

Your eyes widened and you ran faster than you'd ever ran in your life. It was a challenge, and you had to win. There's no backing down from this one.

"You cheated this time! There's no way!" You panted.

Though you'd ran as fast as you could, he won. You hadn't seen him cheat, but you couldn't accept it. At this point you were just stalling.

"I didn't, and now I get my prize! Come on babe!" He smirked.

You brushed and your eyes widened.

"Babe? Who're you calling babe?" You shrieked.

It was pretty funny, but Childe also found it adorable. He couldn't tell if you were embarrassed, angry, or just trying to be funny, but he loved it. Being able to have someone else around, even though they knew he was a demon, made him feel like there was hope for him outside of the odd demon world.

He zoned out, watching you speak and flail your arms around in protest.

"Anyways, that was a joke! No kiss!" You laughed, running into the mall.

You were trying to lose him so he wouldn't see you. No see, no kiss.

"O-oi hold on! That isn't fair!"

Childe was not about to give up on what he wanted, so he was quick to begin pursuing you. He wasn't exactly behind you, but he could see running and hiding behind other people, trashcans, you name it.

It was like a game of manhunt in the mall. People would stare at you two, though neither of you knew if it was from anger or concern.

Eventually, you'd run into a toy store, hiding on a shelf behind a giant teddy bear. When you heard footsteps in front, you had to peek. From behind the arm of the bear, you saw Childe looking around, eyes squinted.

Of course, what you didn't know was that he knew where you were. He wasn't an idiot, and wasn't far behind you when you ran into the store. It wouldn't be hard to bait you out because he had a plan.

He walked behind the shelf you hid on and into the other aisle. You let out a sigh of relief. Just as you relaxed again, you gasped and jumped up a bit. Why?

"(Y/n)? Lumine and Aether are back, the rest of their trip was cancelled so they came back almost a week early!" Venti yelled.

You jumped out from behind the bear, and into the aisle, running towards the exit. When you couldn't see any of the three, your excitement died a little.

"Huh? I thought they were here."

You frowned, and heard someone clear his throat. Doing his best Thanos impression, Childe stepped out from behind a shelf of toys once you'd turned around.

"Reality is often disappointing."

Although you were still slightly upset, you snorted.

"How did you-? Are they really here or did you like- you know? Huh??"

You were confused, and he chuckled at this response.

"Mimicking is easy when you're a demon like me. We can do whoever's voices we want, even if I haven't heard it quite yet! And I needed you to come out and give me my prize, so it was the best way!" He shrugged, grinning.

"Idiot, do you think people who make their significant others sad get kisses?"

You looked at each other for a second before he smirked, and your face went crimson.

"W-Wait not like that! It was just a comparison!" You stuttered slightly.

"It seems you think otherwise, your majesty!"

You groaned, and he snickered at your struggle.

"How cuuute!" he teased.
