Sweet as Chocolate

Chapter 27

As I wake up, I stretch my body and look around the room. It's messy. There's books and the floor and our clothes are lying around everywhere. My dress is the only thing that's actually in place, hanging on the bookshelf. I look next to me. Remus is still sleeping. He looks so peaceful, and I don't really want to wake him up. I hope he had a nice evening too, yesterday. I did. I'm really glad that both Severus and Remus are comfortable around each other, cause I really care about them both. I reach my hand out to touch Remus's cheek, stroking it lightly. He doesn't even react, so I let him be. 

I decide to get up, and write a letter to Alec and Jenn. One each. As I sit down at the desk in Remus's bedroom, I fold out a pargament and prepare to write to Jenn first. I know, she's at home in the States, while Alec is in Italy with his family, so I will be missing Leo for a couple of days, if not weeks. But the letters will get there, and I know he'll be back again. I start writing the letter to Jenn:

Dear Jenn

I hope you're having a great holiday, celebrating Christmas with your family and having fun at home.
I miss you very much, and I have so much to tell you!

It'll be so much easier to talk about everything, when you get back from the holidays, but I thought you might want a heads up, for what's going on here.

Well, Severus and I broke up, but it really was for the better. We're great friends now, and I'm really glad how it turned out between us. I've visited Margot's grave here on the holidays. It was tough on me, but Remus has been there for me. He went to the cemetery with me. And... We're actually a couple now. He's really, great. And I really love him. I have so much smut to tell you. But you'll probably be reading this letter in the company of your family, so it wouldn't be appropriate. However, I know how much you'll look forward to it, so all I'm gonna say is, there's a lot. So, come home to Hogwarts soon, sweety, cause I've got news, Girl!

I fold the letter and slide it to the side, cause I must write the one to Alec too, before getting Leo to fly away with it. I look behind me and see Remus still sleeping. Which really couldn't be better. That way there's no stress about me being preoccupied by writing the letters. I dip my quirrell in ink, and start writing again:

Dear Alec

I hope you're having a great time in Italy with your family, and celebrating Christmas. I miss you, very much. And I really have missed your company in the hard times, that has been for me this Christmas. So I really look forward to going on new adventures with you, when you come back home to Hogwarts.

A lot has happened here. Me and Severus broke up. But we're great friends now, so it really was for the best. But it was a quite difficult decision, and it took hard on me, even though I was the one to break up. But we're okay. More than okay, actually.

I've visited Margot's grave in London. It was... difficult for me. But I needed it, and I feel more closure now, so I guess it was the right thing to do. Remus Lupin went with me, and has been so great in these times. As you know, he was a dear friend of mine also before Margot's death, even though he's been an ass every now and then.

But... We're actually a couple now. It still feels surreal, but I'm so very much in love with him. And he really makes me happy.

I have visited my father, which was... Quite casual. He's getting older and older, as you know. I know, you've studied him and my background. You are the clever one in our trio. He's good, and it was nice to see him, to be honest. I think it's been about 50 years since I saw him, so it was fine seeing him now.
