"Right in here."

Jewel announced as Mya and Jeston walked in front of her.

Liza placed her hand on Jewel's shoulder as encouragement as the kids entered through the door.

They were on day five and Carlos had yet to open his eyes. Mya had been released and Jewel would take both kids home today but she could no longer keep them from seeing their father.

"He looks as if he's sleeping."

Mya looked at her and Jewel held back the tears as she walked towards her baby girl.

"Yeah baby, he's taking a really long nap right now."

Mya placed her hand on his as Jeston stood frozen in place.

There are been no progress made thus far. The ventilator was the main thing keeping Carlos alive.

Teammates, coaches and even his manager had visited which caused his room to be filled with flowers and balloons.

Jewel just wanted him to open his eyes and see how much persons were rooting for him to wake up.

"Daddy, mummy said you saved me. Thank you."

Jewel wiped at a stray tear that rolled down her cheek.

"We're going home today, to our new house. I haven't seen it as yet but mummy's been working really hard to make sure it's ready for us. When you wake up, you could come see it and maybe if mummy would let you, you could stay with us."

Jewel bit her lower lip to hold in a sob as Liza placed her head on Jewel's shoulder.

"Kharyi didn't make it."

A sigh escaped Mya's lips.

"But I'm sure he'd want you to wake up daddy. He really loved you."

"Okay baby, grandma is going to take you to the car."

Jewel watched her son fidget with his fingers as he stared up at the ceiling.

Liza led Mya out of the room and Jewel wrapped her arms around Jeston's shoulders.

"Do you want a minute alone with him?"

She questioned as her son nodded.

"Yeah."

Jewel walked outside and stood on the other side of the door. She knew she shouldn't pry but her almost sixteen year old had always kept it all bottled up on the inside. She just wanted to know what was going through his head at the moment.

"Dad..."

He paused.

"Remember when I yelled that I hated both you and mom?"

She could hear his sniffles.

"That was a lie. I was angry and I was acting spoilt and like a brat. I didn't mean it and I need you to wake up because those can't be my last words to you."

He cried and Jewel fought every urge in her body to run into the room and console her son.

"You can't remember me walking out on you and I can't remember you being shocked as those words left my mouth. I want the chance to take them back, give me that please dad. Please."

Jeston begged.

"Mom needs you, I know she's strong but at the beginning of the separation, she cried a lot when she thought Mya and I were sound asleep."

Jewel's own tears fell.

"She missed you everyday and I saw it on her face. I can see it on her face now, I don't think she can handle losing you. I don't think she can survive it, none of us can. So wake up already. Show them who you really are. You're a Santiago and we never give up."
