casting a circle is basically casting a circle of protection before spellwork. It can be done in multiple ways.

ways a circle can be cast are as follows:

- through visualization

- through a song/ music ritual (ringing bells, wind chimes.. etc)

- with salt (a large circle of salt around the area intended for spellwork)

- a circle made of protective crystals

- 'calling the corners' calling the corners is essentially calling upon all four elements to protect you during spellwork. How this is phrased and preformed depends on the witch.

How to close a circle?

- closing a circle in its essence is basically letting down protective barriers and ending the session.

This can be done in many ways as well- but a simple
"this circle is closed; my magick has been worked- and so it is" will suffice.

How to prepare for spellwork?

- first and foremost, protection. Protection. Protection. Protection.

- cleanse! always cleanse an area before spellwork

- make sure you are acting with a clear mind and sensibly (not under the influence of substances, or acting in a way you will regret)

- get your tools (you don't need any, but just prepare whatever you will be using for spellwork)

- reference your grimoire or the spell in general

- preform!

- and when you are done make sure to cleanse your circle/ cleanse and put away any tools used- and let your magick- work it's magick.
