The Business Trip

(12) A Proposal

Three months later 

Bucky surprised Lenae with tickets to see the Yankees play. Bucky's oldest brother use to play for the Yankees and was now the coach. As they were driving to the stadium she slid her hand into his over the gear shift. 

"So did you ever play a sport?" She said 

"I was more of a debate team guy. I did play when I was younger you know the pee wee leagues. I played t ball one year the following year I tried soccer and basketball. Was to scared for football. I did play tennis in middle school." He said 

She smiled at him. "I like tennis. I played tennis all through middle school and highschool." She said 

"I also play golf." He said as he squeezed her hand.

She smiled at him and leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I love you." She said 

"I love you." He said as he kissed her at the light. 

They arrived at the stadium and got their snacks took a quick bathroom trip before going to their seats. She didn't know it but everywhere through out the stadium was their family and friends. Bucky had a surprise for her right before the last inning that his brother was able to help him with.

When it got to be close to the last inning Bucky took her with him. 

"What are we doing?" She said as they walked out on the field. 

His brother Duncan said into the mic. "So my baby brother is here tonight and he asked me to do something very special for him and lovely lady. So here you go baby brother." Duncan said as he handed him the mic. 

"Thank you." Bucky said 

"Buck.." she whispered 

"Two and half years ago I met you. But I have to be honest from the moment we met I felt like I had known you my whole life. And even though we have officially been together like 6 months for the last year we have been getting closer and I have fallen even more in love with you Lenae. So with all that being said.." he said as he gave the mic to his brother. 

He dropped to one knee as Duncan held the mic close to him. Bucky opened the ring and said "Will you marry me?" 

She put her hands over her mouth as tears fell down. "Yes." She said as she shook her head. 

He slid her purple engagement ring on her finger. Suddenly their friends and family joined them on the field. Bucky picked her up as they took the celebration off the friend so the game could continue. 

When they all got back to their seats she kissed him. "You did that in front of millions of people." She said 

"I know I practiced in the mirror for the last two weeks in the bathroom." He said with a smile. 

She kissed him before they started to enjoy the game again. It was all over the news the next morning. Everyone told them congratulations at the office. The video of the proposal went viral on social media as well.
