Friends Forever

Chapter 8

Evan's POV:
I woke up late for my class this morning I ran out the door so fast I didn't even check my phone. It wasn't till mid day I realized I had a miss text message from Sam.

Sam: Hey love! Sorry about last night... I hope you still had a good time ;) Let me take you out tonight to make up for it.

I smile when I read his text message, I know it's wrong but their getting a divorce anyways so I don't really see why I should stop seeing him.

Evan: Where we going?

Sam: I wanna take you to this place called La Bourdell's. It's fancy so dress nice... I'll pick you up at 5pm okay?

Evan: Cant wait!

I wasn't lying, I really can't wait. Nobody has ever taken me someplace so nice before, he really makes me feel special. I have another class today but I don't want to be late for my date so I rush home anyways to get ready. Missing one class won't hurt...

Nathan's POV:

I walk into the pool house after practice to see Evan walking out of the bathroom dressed in a black button up with black velvet embroidery on the collar and form fitting black dress pants that are tailored perfectly for him.

"Damn you look nice" I say complimenting his outfit, he doesn't usually wear stuff like that so I wonder where he's going. 

"Thanks, Sam's taking me someplace fancy" he chuckles

I nod my head in acceptance, I hate hearing his fucking name I think he's a liar and a creep but I'll just keep my mouth shut if he makes Evan happy.

Too be honest I can't help but I feel a little jealous whenever he mentions sam, I really don't know what to make of these conflicting feelings. I'm not even really sure who or what I'm attracted to.... I know I'm attracted to Ashley, I've been with her for 3 years for a reason. Am I attracted to Evan also? I don't know, I'm too afraid to find the answer.

An hour passes and Evan's still sitting next to me waiting for Sam to come pick him up. We've mostly just been sitting in silence while I watch a movie and he browses the his phone.

Eventually I decide to break the silence,
"whens he suppose to be here anyways?"

"Like 45 minutes ago" he responds bluntly, although he shows no emotion I've know him long enough to tell when he's hurt.

"Why don't you call him? He's probably just in traffic."

Evan pulls out his phone and calls Sam's number but he doesn't pick up, so he calls again but still no answer.

A couple minutes later Evan gets a text from Sam and he opens it so we can read it together.

Sam:
Hey love, I know I told you I'd take you out but I got caught up with the wife and stuff but I promise I'll make it up to you.

This dude pisses me off so bad, I snatch Evan's phone out of is hands XS aaaAqq qA

"Hey!" Evan yells

"I'm just gunna tell him something real fast"

Evan: That's cool Nates gunna take me out instead

Sam: wth!?

Evan snatched his phone back and quickly reads the messages.

"Really Nate? Why would you send him that?"

"Because I'm taking you out, silly"

Suddenly Evan gets a call and he quickly answers it

Evan: oh so now you call me back?

Sam: Seriously Evan?

Evan: Relax it's just as friends.

Evan looks up and smiles at me when he says that, I take this as a sign to go get ready while he finishes up on the phone.

After putting on a nice clothes I walk back into the living room; "you ready ?"

"Where we going?" He asks

"To fancy pants place wherever you wanted to go"

"Really?" He says suspiciously

"Yeah, why? You don't think I cant be fancy?"

He laughs out loud but doesn't respond so I take that as a yes.

We jump in his car and make our way to the restaurant, when we get there I feel a bit uncomfortable by how expensive looking this place is I check my back account one last time just to make sure I have enough money in there.

We have a nice meal and chat just like old times, I'm impressed with how sophisticated he acts, I mean he tells me lots of stories about him having to go to fancy events with his family growing up. One time his parents to him to go meet the president, when the bill comes he tries to grab it but I snatch it away from him just in time.

"Nate just let me use my credit card it's fine. This place is really expensive."

"No no I got it's cool, I wanna do something nice for you since you got stood up."

I look down at the bill and choke a bit when I read the total I reluctantly place my card on top and put it on the table.  I'm not used to spending money like this but I've come into a little bit of cash from my sports scholarship. Not a lot but enough to get me through the semester.

The rest of the night we had a really good time together; watching movie and chatting just like old times.  Eventually we both slowly start to nod off in the middle of the movie before we know it we're both sleeping in his bed.
