[Peter's POV]

When I regained consciousness, it felt like I wasn't really awake; and that's because I wasn't. I was back in the dream I had been having after Gemma had accidentally hurt my lungs, except this time, Gemma and I were in a house, playing with the children.

'Emilia, ready or not here I come!' Gemma called out. Her and Emilia were playing hide and seek and I was sat with Adam reading a children's book on the sofa, I was lying on my back, with my head on the arm rest, Adam on my chest.

Suddenly, Gemma came up behind my head, 'Now Emilia! Jump on daddy!' She shouted and a small 3 year old jumped on my chest, 'Ooh!' I shouted in a slight bit of pain, but I couldn't move, it was weird. I went to move but couldn't. Gemma kissed me from behind on the lips, but I couldn't feel it. I knew I must be dreaming but it didn't feel like a normal dream. I tried to sit up, but I couldn't, this felt like real life. I tried to move my arms, stuck, legs, stuck. What was going on?

[Gemma's POV]

I ran downstairs, looking for dad. Peter was gone, what if someone had taken him? Now I couldn't find dad, there were still so many people here.

I was trying to keep it together but I could feel my heart beating faster and faster and my hands starting to shake. That's when I saw Steve. I ran up to him and grabbed his arm, 'Hey kiddo what's wrong?' He looked down at my hands and grabbed them, 'Hey, Gem, calm down, deep breath.' I did as I was told, took a deep breath and tried to think rationally. 'Now, Gemma, what's wrong?' I looked up with him and could feel my eyes tearing up,
'Steve, I can't find Peter. He said he was going up to use my bathroom like 40 minutes ago but he never came back and I found his phone by my bedroom window which was open and I definitely left it shut.' I was rambling,
'Hey, hey! Calm down. We will find him, maybe he stepped outside, or...' Steve got distracted at something behind me, I turned around and it was dad signalling to both of us to go into the hallway.

'Gem, where's the kid?' He asked when the 3 of us were alone, I looked up at him, feeling my eyes welling up again.
'I... I don't know.'

Steve explained the situation to dad just as I had, just more coherently. Once he was done, dad pulled out his phone, 'When Peter went up to your room the door didn't lock again until 6 minutes after. I think something may have happened too, but I don't know what.' Dad said, he sounded anxious. 'We need to get everyone out of here, right now.' Dad added firmly to Steve and he nodded and went to start to usher people out of the facility.

After about 30 minutes, every guest had been cleared out. We told them that there had been a gas leak and so everyone needed to be evacuated. I paced up and down the briefing room thinking of a way we could find Peter. I had his phone so I couldn't track him using that, his suit was up in my room. I didn't think he had any other tech on him we could track. "Agh!' I screamed so loud that literal flames came out of my fingertips. Shit, I had forgotten about my powers for a brief moment. I took another deep breath and the flames were put out. Suddenly the monitor started beeping, saying that a transmission was coming through.

I pressed a button on the remote and the video transmission flashed up. It was Peter. He was strapped down to a bed with needles in his arms and a weird cap on his head and his eyes were closed. I put my hand over my mouth and fell onto the chair behind me. He looked like he was asleep, then a woman I recognised came on camera. It was the woman who had distracted me the day I had been tased on the mission.

'We have your Spider-Man, give us the Alien halfbreed or the boy...' She paused and turned a dial that seemed to stop whatever the cap that was on Peter's head was doing. Peter's eyes shot open and he started screaming in pain, shaking in his flattened position. I started crying uncontrollably, I couldn't bear to see him in pain. 'Well, the boy, he get's the worst of it.' The transmission ended and an address flashed on the screen, I quickly took a photo and rushed upstairs to my room. I knew dad was not going to agree to let me turn myself in to whoever these people were, but I had to save Peter.

I went up to my room, kicked off my shoes, and put on my suit, dad and I had finished the necklace version of my suit a couple days ago so it was much easier. While I was hurriedly putting on my boots, dad came in. 'Gemma, what are you doing? Where are you going?' He interrogated me,
'Dad, they sent a transmission, me for him, I'm going.' I said bluntly, not looking up as I did but fastening my boots,
'No, you are not! And who are they?' He shouted at me,
'The OCTAGON people I guess! And yes, I am, dad, Peter needs me!' I shouted back, even louder than he had me. Dad looked at me stunned,
'Gemma, I know you're worried, so am I. Peter is like my son but-'
'Well then you obviously don't worry like I do, because there are no buts! He is in danger and I can help, that is that!' I walked past my mirror an saw that my makeup had all run from all of the crying, that didn't matter.

I tapped my earrings and my mask emerged. I tried to get past dad but he blocked the door, 'Dad move, or I'll move you.' He raised his eyebrows at me in disbelief,
'No, no you won't. I know you're young and in love but-'
'There's the but again! There is no buts, I love him dad, and him being in danger because of me feels like a part of me has been cut up into tiny pieces and set on fire!' I cried my way through,
'Gem, we're going to get him back, but together.'

I wanted to keep screaming at him but the more I tried to fight with him, the more I started to cry. 'Gem, come down to the briefing room when you're ready, we're going to watch the transmission and figure out a plan,' He hugged me tightly but I couldn't hug back, I had too many emotions rushing through me.

Dad left and I collapsed on the floor in tears. They weren't normal tears, they were the type of tears that feel like your soul is pouring out along with them. After a minute, I stood up abruptly, I needed to pull myself together if I was going to help Peter. I wiped off my makeup and went downstairs. It was time to go save my boyfriend.

[Peter's POV]

Whatever it was keeping me in the dream was shut off, and I could see some machines around the bed, but I still couldn't move. There was a woman standing next to one of the machines but I couldn't hear what she was saying. This thing on my head was covering my ears so everything was muffled and sounded more like white noise.
All of a sudden, the woman turned a switch on one of the machines and it felt like my whole body was going into shock. Like every cell in my body was being stabbed a thousand times but I still couldn't move. It was the worst pain I had ever felt.

The woman flipped the dial again and the pain stopped, my body felt so achy, like I had just run a marathon fifty times over, and then I was back in the dream. I hoped wherever I was, that Gemma would come for me soon.
