Part 17:

[Peter's POV]

After a while I pulled away from Gemma, I didn't want to but I wanted to ask her something. When I pulled away she kept her hands around my neck, stroking the back of my head. 'So Gemma, um, I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?' I asked her a little nervously. But she kissed me quickly and sweetly and smiled, 'Of course Spidey boy.' She replied and I picked her up and swung her around, making her giggle, and with that the rain stopped.

After our walk, Gemma got picked up and I started to walk home. Even with the incident in the restaurant, we still had a pretty amazing date. I had an amazing girlfriend and she knew I was Spider-Man, no more secrets. I walked past the restaurant we had eaten at and the police were still there looking over the scene. I still had my suit in my rucksack and decided to go in as Spider-Man and see if I could find Gem's necklace. I went into an ally, put on my suit and stashed my backpack behind a garbage bin. I swung into the restaurant and one of the cops asked if he could take a photo with me; which don't get me wrong was cool, but I knew Mr Stark wouldn't like that.

'Karen?' I asked the suit lady,
'Yes, Peter?' She replied,
'Can you do a scan for Gem's necklace?'
'Of course, one minute.' My mask had lines going up and down scanning the room when suddenly something started glowing and the mask focused in on it. I went over to pick up the object and it was Gemma's necklace. I held it in my hand and something weird came over me. It felt as though my legs were about to give way and I had to lean against a wall to get my balance. What was going on? I put the necklace in my concealed pocket and went to go home. It was getting late and I wanted to patrol as much as possible tomorrow before I saw Gem in the afternoon. I went to launch a web and swing onto a roof but I couldn't lift myself up properly. 'Karen, what's going on?' I asked my AI in the suit.
'It appears that something is dampening your powers, Peter.' Karen replied. It must have been the necklace, but why would Gemma have a power dampening necklace?

I walked home normally after grabbing my stuff from the ally. It felt strange just walking around in my Spider-Man gear so I changed back into my regular clothes to walk back. When I got home it was nearly midnight and May was in bed. I went into my room and put Gemma's necklace on my desk and I instantly began to feeling better. I put on the mask of my suit again, 'Karen, run diagnostics on the necklace.' Karen started trying to trace the elements the necklace was made of and other things that could help me figure out what was making it dampen my powers. 'Peter, the diamond on the front of the necklace does not appear to be a diamond at all. In fact it doesn't seem to be any element currently discovered. Perhaps Mr Stark can help.' What was going on? Maybe I should ask Mr Stark for help, but either way, it would have to wait until tomorrow.

[Gemma's POV]

I know I hadn't noticed about the necklace straight away, but know I knew it was gone, I felt strange without it. Like a part of me was somewhere else and I didn't know what to do. I knew dad would go nuts if I told him I had lost it, hopefully I would find it tomorrow, or the police would have found it while they were checking over the restaurant.

When I got home I got ready for bed straight away; I was shattered. I guess finding out your now-boyfriend is a superhero is more tiring than you'd think. Once I got ready for bed I pulled out my phone before bed. Dad and Peter had both texted.

you when I get back tomorrow.

I put my phone on charge and went to sleep. Today had been perfect.
