He felt her eyes watching him and flickered his open to meet them. "Good morning." Lucy said quietly.

"Mm." Draco moaned, closing his eyes again. He was a peaceful and quiet sleeper, hardly moved through the night.

After a few more minutes Draco began to wake up properly, taking his arm off Lucy's waist. "How'd you sleep?" he asked, sitting up against the head of the bed.

"Good, really good." Lucy admitted. Draco nodded before getting out of bed and headed for the bathroom. He was wearing only briefs and Lucy shyly avoided watching him. A few minutes later he emerged and went into his wardrobe, grabbing out a pair of grey shorts and white polo. He dipped back into the bathroom and Lucy heard as the shower turned on.

He stepped out of the bathroom dressed in his clothes and a pair of vans. His cologne wafting into his bedroom and Lucy relaxed at the scent. She watched as he walked over to the bed. "Come on." He said, pulling the sheet off Lucy's bottom half. Her legs felt the cool air and she shivered in response.

He waited for her at the door as she slowly got up, tucking his shirt into the shorts of his she was wearing and ran her fingers through her hair.

"I look like a slob." She said shyly, looking from him to her.

Draco rolled his eyes in response and led Lucy downstairs. They headed for the kitchen and sat down at the bench just as breakfast began filling the counter in front of them, the two of them filling their plates.

"Here." Draco said, pouring her a glass of juice. Lucy liked this side of him, the caring side, he would never show this to anyone but her and god forbid he was around his friends and acted like this. She knew it would be short lived and to enjoy it while it lasted.

"Got your things?" Draco asked Lucy. They were back in his bedroom and Lucy had gotten her dress and heels from the night before.

"Yeah." She replied, following him back downstairs.

Draco and Lucy walked through the forest until they reached Parcivall manor and by that time, the summer sun was almost scorching them.

"Thank you." She said to him as they paused at the edge of the trees.

"Don't mention it. I'll see you." He said coolly, and Lucy smiled as he walked back to the Malfoy manor.

AUGUST 1994

It had been a week since the annual Malfoy party and Lucy had heard nothing from Draco.

She worried her spending the night would change things between them.

"Luce, let's go!" Grayson called out to her from downstairs. Lucy quickly pulled herself together and skipped down the stairs, meeting both her brothers at the backdoor. They were heading to the river for the day as the summer sun was blistering hot that day.

Lucy followed her brothers out into the field and down to the water's edge. She set her stuff down and peeled off her clothes that stuck to her skin. She waded into the water after her Grayson and swam into the cool water.

Lucy and Grayson were talking about transfiguration when she noticed his gaze shifting over her shoulder.

"What-?" She said, spinning around to look at the source.

Draco stood on the bank and nodded at her.

"You coming in, Malfoy?" Grayson called out to him. Lucy watched him as he began to pull off his shorts and shirt and kicked off his shoes before walking into the water.

"Hi." Lucy said almost shyly as he swam up to her.

"Hi." He responded calmly.

They swam around each other for a while until Reuben began splashing each of them.
