"I'm stuck between trying to live my life and trying to run from it"

Fatigue weighed heavily against taehyung's slouched posture as he trudged through the crowded halls of his college. He stayed up all night trying to find any sort of information on the mysterious duo he now knew as JK and PJ. Much like his earlier attempts, his searches had been pointless on numerous different search engines. Taehyung became so discouraged that he even considered looking the initials up on the dark web. His sleep fogged mind must've still contained some common sense though because he never actually went through with the idea.

Thus, Taehyung is still in the same stumped position he was in last night. Oh how much Taehyung loathed being left in the dark. As much as he hated to admit it, the unknown petrified him. The feeling of being rendered clueless left a horrible feeling in the pit of his gut. One incident in particular had led him to feel an intense amount of dread whenever he knew nothing. But alas, this incident happened so long ago that he forgot how it felt to be in such a state. His hatred for this state, however, has not changed in the slightest. He would even go as far as to say that deep inside of him, this hatred has festered into something more - something darker.

Batting his eyes as he was roughly shoved by another male, Taehyung huffed and increased his pace a little. He didn't want to be late to class considering he was always punctual. Hoisting up his backpack higher on his slouched shoulders, Taehyung finally arrived at his class. Pushing the door to the lecture hall open he shuffled inside and quickly picked a seat near the middle of the room. It was his typical seat, right next to the wide window that overlooked a peaceful park across the street. Oftentimes, Taehyung visited the park at night to enjoy it's calmness.

Students rarely sat next to him due to his unspoken labels that consisted of 'nerd', 'freak', 'loner', and any other term that fell in the category. They only sat next to him in dire situations where it was absolutely necessary. So, to say Taehyung was shocked when someone willingly filled the seat next to him was an understatement.

His gaze lazily darted over to who he assumed would be his tormentor for the day. However, he was even more surprised to see an unfamiliar face instead. The surprise must've been all over his face because the brunette next to him chuckled softly.

"I see you sitting alone all the time so I decided to keep you company for the day. I hope you don't mind," the other spoke whilst laying his backpack against the leg of his desk. Taehyung, in turn, just gawked at him like he was a being from an entirely different planet. His state of disbelief didn't go unnoticed by the other as he pulled out a notebook and pencil from his backpack.

Tilting his head, the other continued, "I'm Yoongi by the way. You are?" The open ended question finally pulled Taehyung from his thoughts and he lightly shook his head to clear his mind.

"Taehyung," he offered the stranger now known as Yoongi. Soon after, the professor entered the room and the mildly crowded area slowly calmed down. Taehyung hastily grabbed his notebook from his backpack and flipped to a blank page so he could take notes.

The professor talked for a short amount of time, briefly answering questions students had before allowing them to get to work on their project. Taehyung idly played with the pages of his notebook as this happened, occasionally writing down important information the professor hadn't discussed. Once the professor was done, Taehyung retrieved his laptop from his backpack and wondered if he should engage in conversation with the young adult beside him.

Logging into his computer, Taehyung casted a hesitant glance in Yoongi's general direction only to see the other already staring at him. Coughing, Taehyung shifted his body to face Yoongi before piercing him with a questioning stare.

Seeming to get the hint, Yoongi began talking, "Who's your partner for the project?" Taehyung debated on making up a lie, claiming that he did have a partner to work with who just wasn't at school today. However, it's very obvious when he lies because he fidgets and can't keep his eyes in one place for too long.

So instead, he answered with the truth, "I don't have a partner. I..uhm..I'm doing it alone." His voice came out awkwardly high pitched and scratchy which was unusual for a number of reasons. Taehyung had never been one to think of conversing with a person as daunting yet here he was, making a fool of himself and not speaking properly.

Ducking his head, Taehyung decided looking at the floor would be a better option then looking at the person in front of him. He expected to hear some sort of disgusted noise, but instead light laughing followed his previous statement.

"I never took you as a shy person, but that makes me want to get to know you more," Yoongi uttered with small chuckles following. "I'm also working on my own so maybe we could help each other out? We don't have to be partners, but it would be nice to have a study-buddy."

Taehyung liked that idea, especially since he prefers to do projects on his own. Relying on others is like teetering on the edge of a clif. You don't know if others will do their work and save you from falling or not do anything and allow you to reach your inevitable death. Usually the aforementioned happens, leaving Taehyung falling to his demise.

Nodding his head in agreement Taehyung lifted his head to face Yoongi, "Yeah...I would like that a lot."
