。・゜・Chapter 2・゜・。
"Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them"
Taehyung made a sound between a whimper and groan as his butt came in contact with the cold concrete. He felt a figure's presence over him, yet kept his gaze on the ground before him. Something about the person made his blood run cold. He didn't even have to look up to know that this person was calculating and cold as he could feel their burning gaze on top of his head.
Footsteps were the only sound heard throughout the empty alley. Another silhouette, male judging by their heavy footsteps, kneeled down to Taehyung's slouched form. They were clad in black utility pants and burgundy platform boots. There was also the bottom of a black corset visible at the end of the males' torso. Taehyung thought the male was rather stylish to be out at 1:30 am. He could've come from a club yet that seemed unlikely.
Fingertips brushed against his jaw-line slowly and forcefully, not enough to leave a bruise, but enough to make their presence known. The male's index finger moved down Taehyung's face, eventually residing under his chin. The male flexed his index finger so his nail dug into the other's skin. The male added pressure forcing Taehyung to look at him.
Taehyung casted his gaze up to meet silver eyes, obviously wearing contacts, and slightly chubby cheeks. The person had a lean face and narrowed eyes. If anything, Taehyung would think the person wasn't a day past seventeen and meant anything but harm. However, the aura the man carried around him made Taehyung think otherwise. Innocent faces can contain the darkest souls; he should know after being scammed more than once.
Getting a clear look, the male was in fact wearing a black corset with a satin burgundy shirt underneath and a collared neckline. There was also a metal-hoop choker hanging loosely around his neck.
Trying to gather the worlds to apologise, Taehyung let his eyes wander around the alley, stopping on the male slightly farther back in a protective stance. He was dressed in all black, outfit complete with a black bucket hat and mask. His eyes were hooded and blank, gaze shifting between Taehyung and the unknown male leaning down. There was black hair splayed across his forehead covering his eyebrows.
Clearing his throat, Taehyung decided to speak after procrastinating long enough finding the right words. He tried to scoot back slightly yet the male in front of him held him in place. His nails dug further into his skin as he let out a grunt of pain and discomfort.
"I'm sorry for running into you, I didn't realise you were standing there," Taehyung mumbled softly, guiding his left hand to the other's right and removing their fingers from his face. He didn't want to be rude, yet he didn't want a stranger touching his face either.
Finally getting free from the grip, Taehyung used his hands to push his body off the gravel, lightly dusting off the nonexistent dust from his clothes. He wouldn't call himself a germaphobe, but unnecessary dirt made him anxious. Maybe it was OCD; he had no idea.
Out of the corner of his eye, Taehyung saw the other male clad in black moving forward to stand beside his partner and help him up. The juxtaposition between the two was oddly fitting. The shorter was all soft curves and honey glazed skin that seemed to glow against the suffocating darkness. He was like a blooming rose on a spring evening, radiating childish bliss and sugar-coated lies. Rather, the taller blended into the night. The way owls, and other mysterious animals, could while waiting for the perfect time to strike.
Taehyung felt an odd attraction to them which he absolutely loathed himself for. Who would have an attraction to strangers met in the blanketed darkness. The same suffocating and unbearable darkness that has him titering on the edge of insanity because, for the life of him, he just cannot figure out the darn thing.
Darkness was a term loosely tossed around, yet it could mean something completely different every time. Reasons, unbeknown to him, made him come to absolutely despise the darkness even though the worst situations happen to him in daylight. Darkness had the ability to conceal anything and everything it wanted while at the same time revealing secrets thought to be untold.
Taehyung was so deep in his own thoughts that he didn't notice the shorter male, the same male that seemed to be casted in sunlit rays, started stalking around him. Taking in all of him, or what he could see in the dying light of glimmering street lamps haphazardly placed on the side of the road. All viper-like movements and slitted eyes that made Taehyung heavily uncomfortable.
"If there's nothing left to say, I think I'll take my leave," Taehyung spoke out, grasping his backpack straps between his palms and pulling it up from the side of the road. He didn't even stop to wipe off the grim that had accumulated from the mere minutes it was on the gravel. That's how desperate he was to get home to his loving, protective, and most definitely freaking out brother.
"We'll see you around doll," the taller stated whilst wrapping an arm around, what now appeared to be his significant other, bringing the smaller close to his chest.
"We won't let you out of our sight," he said in a manner that seemed to suggest it was more of a promise. If Taehyung wasn't freaked out before he sure was now. He didn't need anymore problems right now as University was already beating the poor boy down.
Taehyung just laughed it off nervously though, gripping onto his backpack a little tighter now as he hurried to make it out of the alleyways. He threw a little wave to the two as he bent the corner, again not wanting to be rude, but intending never to see them again too.
However, he did fail to catch a statement confirming his suspicions of the thinking the affirmatives wanted to keep him around.
"I think we just stumbled upon the perfect toy..."
