I took a moment to think through my words as Izleena stared at the both of us, locked in unmistakable coitus, and unable to explain.
She blinked aggressively, crossing her arms and tilting her head. She said nothing.
"Honey...It's not what it looks like." I said softly, still straddling him, both completely naked.
"Really? Because it looks like you're balls deep in yourself!" Izleena said, with a sarcastic overtone.
"You do have a very solid observation there, and I have no way of denying that." I said carefully, running out of ideas.
"Can you maybe pull out and grab a towel, so I can talk to you?" She growled.
"Yep, okay." I said, dismounting and sitting next to Greg, rather than on top. "Can I have a moment to explain the lead-up?" I asked hesitantly.
"I've been able to hear you two for a full minute. This is a really large house and neither of you are quiet talkers. I heard everything from when you finished to when you re-started." She snipped.
"Damn. Well, there went the preparation and timing." Greg said, jabbing me in the size with an elbow."
"I...I can't believe this." Izleena said in shock.
"Almost can't believe it myselves." I sighed, shaking my head in shame.
"I can't believe that you think I would leave you for this." She said, jarring my mood slightly, since I doubted that I heard it right. Greg and I turned and locked eyes, as if to silently confirm that we both heard that phrasing.
"Can you repeat that with more details, just to be sure?" I asked.
"Honey...You didn't cheat on me with someone else, you cheated on me with you. Yes, you were still lying to me and hiding things from me, and I'm not thrilled with that part, but this just you on you, with extra steps." She complained.
"Wait, you knew before now?" Greg asked.
"What Am I, stupid? I was leaving hints hoping you'd just tell me. I thought we were role playing at first and it was pretty hot, but you just never broke character and it got annoying. Then people started dying and I had to pay off a witness, I had to get a side job at a bank. Why do you think I've been working so much lately? I'm just pissed that you took forever to tell me." Izleena scolded.
"Hol-up." I said, silencing Greg with my hand so I could say it. "The blonde woman at the bank was you?" I blinked, trying hard not to have a stroke; I've done far too much stroking myself tonight as it is.
"You seriously didn't know? You didn't know it was me when we had sex in that shitty apartment? Oh my gods, you are the worst at role playing. Did you really think you cheated on me...wait did you really think I was JENNY!?" She said, grimacing in annoyance and disgust.
"I didn't think you were this devious. And for the record, I 100 percent didn't think you were Jenny, that part was a joke." I bluffed, (because once in a blue moon, lying to your wife is actually a good idea). Not often, but I'm trying to SAVE the marriage here, stop judging me humans. You're reading a book about cheating and murder, for entertainment, so you're as bad as me, and you tell your wife she has a better ass than your ex and you know it. That's different, back to the conversation.
Izleena stepped over the broken wine bottle and looked more concerned than angry. Her eyes faded from white to a calmer blue.
"So you really think I would throw away our marriage because you felt insecure and needed some alone time? Because just couldn't admit to it? It's dumb, it's slightly childish, and I am definitely going to yell at you and use this for several trump-card arguments wins in the future." She informed.
