This chapter is a list of some books, movies, and series that includes mermaids. It will list the title, where to watch it, and a small comment from me. I think most of these are PG but I'll give a warning if they're not. Read or watch at your own risk, if a movie or book doesn't seem appropriate for your age, don't watch or read it. For the most part these should be fine but if your parents don't let you, don't watch or read it. I have to put this in here because I don't want kids reading teen books and then them getting mad at me because they got in trouble with their parents. I think you get the point, I'm gonna stop talking and get to the recommending. These are not in any particular order, just listed as I remember them. I do not own any of these.

1. H2O Just Add Water (TV series on Netflix) A mermaid classic, and a great series!

2. Mako Mermaids (TV series on Netflix) Another popular one, kind of like "the next generation" of H2O. (When I say next generation I don't mean the characters' children, I mean that it's set after the series in the same area.)

3. H2O Mermaid Adventures (Animated TV series on Netflix) Animated series based on H2O Just Add Water. I've only watched like half the series and it was a long time ago so I can't tell you too much about it. It has the same characters as the original but a different plot. It's more of just like side episodes...

4. Emily Windsnap (Book series by Liz Kessler) I've read all of them except the newest one which I really want to read but people keep checking it out at my local library. (I know it's directed for like 10 year olds but I first read it when I was younger and the author keeps coming out with more books so I read them. Don't judge me it's an interesting series. I don't judge you for what you read do I?) *ahem* Anyway, onto the next!

5. Song of the Sea (Movie on Netflix) I've never seen this before but it's fairly new and it's animated. My friend told me about it because her little sister wanted to watch it or something. If I watch it I'll update this.

6. Scales: Mermaids Are Real (Movie on Netflix) I'm gonna be honest, this movie was not that great. I can see where they were going with the plot but all toghter it just didn't hit right for me. You may have your own opinion, this is just mine, I'm not gonna tell you not to watch it.

7.  Zig and Sharko (TV series on Netflix) My cousin showed this to me and I don't really know how to explain it. It's kind of like a comedy type thing, there's not really a plot. I've only seen a couple episodes but it's kind of funny if you wanna check it out. I don't know why but it reminds me of Spongebob-

8. The Little Mermaid (Movie on Disney plus) Okay I think we all know this one, DISNEY CLASSIC.

9. Aquamarine (Movie on YouTube) I heard this is good, though I've never seen it. I feel like it's pretty popular throughout the mermaid community. Minimal cursing. I don't know the age rating on this- can someone tell me.

10. Ponyo (Movie on HBO) PONYO PONYO LITTLE FISHY IN THE SEA- *ahem* An anime, I think it's by Studio Ghibli, correct me if I'm wrong. I watched this last year, good movie but it's in Japanese but there's an English dub version. Pretty sure this is appropriate-

11. The very short, entirely true History of Mermaids (Book by Sarah Laskow) Includes some mermaid folklore/stories and information. Good for if you want to do research on mermaid history but don't want to read through an entire textbook-sized book.

12. Forbidden Sea (Book by Sheila A. Nielson) Haven't read this yet but I'm planning to. I'll update once I read it. I think it's fine though I don't know the exact age rating, I found it in the teens section if that tells you anything. All I'm saying is read at your own risk.

This is all I could think of for now, comment some other mermaid stuff you read and watch. I'm tired.
