____________________________________I woke up to Reid's alarm blaring on the bedside table. He was lying on his back beside me and groaned. I whispered to him, my eyes still closed.
"I believe it's on your side, Reid." I felt one of his long arms reach out and stop the noise. "Thank you." He kissed the top of my head and rubbed my shoulder.
"We have to get up. JJ said we have a case. He kissed my cheek before rolling out of bed and turning on the shower. I reluctantly sat up and gazed around the unfamiliar space. Bookshelves covered one wall, made of a fine cherry-stained wood. Each shelf was meticulously packed with books in alphabetical order. There was also a stack on his bedside table. Mostly 14th-15th century English literature. I slid out of bed and followed his path into the bathroom.
I knocked on the glass shower door and his mess of wet, curly hair popped out moments later.
"Is everything ok?" His eyes searched mine for any issue I could have. I smiled and gestured towards the shower. He opened the door.
I removed the t-shirt I had packed for the night and stepped in. It was small, but it felt nice to be so close to him. He was a little too tall for the shower; I noticed his head was inches from hitting the shower head. He pulled me under the water and kissed me slowly.
My hands traveled up and down his arms, which were skinny but toned. I held his face and felt his sharp cheekbones and jawline slowly move up and down while we kissed.
His arms were tightly wrapped around me, pulling me close to him under the warm water. The feeling consumed me, and I gave into it. He broke from the kiss and reached over to the bar of soap on the stone shelf.
He ran the bar over my back and stomach, and then onto himself. He moved his hands over my shoulders, then my arms, then my breasts, and then my waist.
"I could stay here for hours." I rubbed the lather across his chest.
"Me too, but we're going to be late." He kissed me swiftly and washed the remaining soap out of his hair. He pulled me under the water and I did the same.
We shared a cab on our way to the office, whispering things into each other's ears. Before we got out a block away, the cab driver chuckled and gestured between us.
"You two seem very in love. I remember that. You have a nice day." We smiled awkwardly and stepped out of the cab. Spencer took my hand and helped me up onto the curb.
He put his arm around my shoulder while we made out way to the building's entrance. I laughed and shrugged it off of me.
"You better work harder to hide this from the team, pretty boy." He looked down at his shoes and smiled.
"How am I supposed to stop myself when you're so beautiful?" I stopped and turned to him, beaming. I appreciated the worshipful thing he had going on. I glanced from side to side before planting a kiss on his soft lips.
"We better hurry. Case today."
We walked into the bullpen with purpose, making sure our body language was purely platonic. We got to work as the jet was prepped.
I sat across from him on the jet, watching the gears turn in his brain while his thumb stroked the bottom of his jaw. We started to build the outline of the profile. Male. Mid 30s-40s. White. As usual.
I got up to get some tea at one point and stepped away from the conversation. As I was heating up the water, I turned around to see Reid. I smiled deviously and looked up at him.
He took off his glasses and leaned forward as he rubbed the lenses between the cashmere on his sweater vest. "I had a lot of fun last night." I nodded to assure him of our privacy.
"Diddo, Dr. Reid." And don't tell me the origin of that word. I pointed at him, my eyebrows raised, catching him in his habit. He smiled and nodded.
"I'm finding it difficult," he said while drumming his fingers on the counter, "to pretend like nothing's going on here." I leaned forward slightly and licked my lips.
"Me too." I leaned back sharply and made my cup with a petty grin. "It seems like you're doing a worse job than me." He opened his mouth in a shocked expression and I giggled softly.
"Is this a challenge? Because I never lose, Greenaway." I shrugged my shoulders and made my way back to my seat. I felt his expression behind me as he waited a minute before following me back.
Reid and I were ordered to scan the victim's residence for anything the local PD may have missed. As we walked through the door, I felt him bump into me. I stumbled and he placed his hands on my waist to ground me.
"Oh, sorry." He walked away with a smile. I could not believe it. So immature. We looked high and low but found little to nothing of substance from the scene. Reid was gazing around the kitchen, standing in front of the drawers. I kneeled down in front of him.
"Could you just..." I gestured for him to move to the side, staring up at him seductively. He rolled in eyes and moved aside so I could rifle through the drawers.
"Hmm, nothing. Weird." I got up and brushed my knees with my hands. I stared and him haughtily and made my way out of the kitchen.
"I never lose!" I chuckled and turned to him, my hair sweeping across my back in the process.
"Neither do I." I flashed him a bright grin and walked out the front door on my way back to the station. I felt him shuffling behind me, discombobulated. This was going to be an interesting case.
