"mom, i'm off!" you shout, slinging on your school bag and riding off in a bicycle. as you rush to school, you notice a boy around your age dressed in a white t-shirt and ripped jeans. he wore circular, black thin framed glasses. but what stuck out to you the most was his red eyes. whoever this guy was, he looked really sketchy.

hoping you were just being creative with the situation, you rode inside the school and parked your bike to where it was supposed to be and locked the wheels. breathing in the fresh air, you walked inside the school, switching out your outdoor shoes with indoor ones.

"[name]! how have you been?" ayaka beamed, her textbooks in hand. you stared at her. it was partially your fault but you ignored ayaka for the entirety of spring break due to the fact that you've been an emo heart broken teenager. "ah, i'm fine! sorry for not contacting you over break. how are things with tohama?"

ayaka chuckles, "he's such a dork, i don't know why he decided to date me." you internally sighed, me neither. yes, you're over ayaka now. it didn't take long. besides, you were more infatuated with the idea of whoever got the message in the bottle you sent out to sea.

the bell chimes and signaled every one to get to class. you all sat down on your respective seats and zoned out of class.

your last class was literature. you absolutely loved this subject. as much as you love writing, you loved the stories the subject provides you with. it was right up your alley.

the teacher, mrs. choi, gave an assignment where you had to make a time capsule. you were ecstatic and already planned out the things you would put in the capsule as well as the letter you would write.

as you packed up your things, you noticed the same guy outside your school when arriving, was standing outside your classroom. as if he was waiting for someone.

curious, you packed your things up slowly, wanting to know what the deal with this guy was. mrs. choi is still here anyway, it's not like you were in complete danger if he tries anything.

"mom!" you paused. did he say 'mom' or were you tripping? you wracked your head for any sort of korean knowledge you might have but got nothing. the boy glanced at you and gave a friendly wave.

"hello! um, i hope... you didn't give mother a hard time," he spoke with broken japanese. your eyebrows arched in amusement. you shook your head no and he gave a grin which was contagious. you smiled back and quickly packed your stuff.

before you left, he placed a lollipop in his mouth before saying, "my name's choi jihoon. nice to meet you." in perfect japanese. that was unsurprising since at least anyone knew the proper way to introduce yourself in japanese.

you gave a small bow, gripped on the strap of your bag and smiled, "mori [name]."
