Sitting in my seat during class, waiting for Naruto to arrive at the classroom, was nerve-wracking. Cold sweat started forming in the middle of my palms.

I started noticing and wiped it off. The classroom was talking and chatting like any other day. None had even the slightest idea of what was happening to Naruto or me.

The classroom was large enough to fit around 25 students, the blackboard in the front of the room, the words 'Class Trip In 4 Weeks' was written in the corner of the board in bold white chalk.

The open door was at the front of the classroom on the right, and on the left were two large windows that had a view of the schoolyard.

My eyes darted back to the doorway when I saw Naruto walk stand near the doorway of the classroom, a nerve-wracking expression starting to emerge on his face.

He scanned the classroom before making direct eye contact with me before breaking it almost instantly, his face flushing right after.

He walked to his usual seat next to me without looking at me. Placing his bookbag on the floor, he looked at the window on the other side of the classroom, trying to avoid eye contact with me the whole time.

Was he embarrassed? I tapped him on the shoulder, "Naruto?" I call for him, he tenses up but manages to look at me.

"H-Hi," he stuttered, his face as red as it was the last time I saw him, "S-Sorry, am I making this awkward?" he asked, in a considerate tone.

I shook my head in disagreement, "Oh, good," he said. It went silent between the two of us, I needed to break the tension between the two of us, or it would all go downhill from here.

"I'm sorry if I did anything yesterday that made things awkward between us," I apologized. Naruto looked over at me,

"You didn't do anything wrong, I just- I just don't know what to say after that," he explained.

I turned away from him slightly, "That makes two of us," I reply. He processes it before beaming with a tiny bit of blush that was hardly visible.

I smile, "I-" "Morning class," I was cut off by none other than our teacher, Kakashi Hatake. Just when things were finally going steady between Naruto and me.

"Today, we will be discussing any questions we have left about our project," he explained to us in a bored tone.

I reached for a sticky note in the front pocket of my bag and scribbled down a small note on it.

I wrote down the words, 'Meet me in the same class during lunch' and slid down the note to Naruto, who took it from me and read it.

He smiled as he read it, and grabbed a blue pen from his pockets and started writing down something else, and passed it back to me without making eye contact.

The note read, 'Okay, see you then,' with a small heart next to the message. I'm keeping this with me till the day I die.

I was waiting in the classroom, waiting for Naruto to arrive. Kiba was holding him up in the hallways. He was trying to show him something on his phone.

Leaning against one of the front desks, I stared outside the windows at the other students eating or talking together in groups.

I watched as a specific friend group. Sakura, Ino, Hinata, TenTen, and Temari were together near one of the big trees in the schoolyard.

I saw Ino whisper something to Sakura, causing her to flush as she led her away from the rest of the group.

Those two were interesting. Haven't you ever watched two people and wonder why they aren't together yet? Because that's what I'm feeling right now.
