I helped load the kids stuff into the trunk, taking their bags. Celia placed her own bag in the trunk and completely ignored what Ben had to say, making Mal laugh.

"So as soon as we get to Auradon, you have to try ice cream," Evie said to Dizzy.

"And go swimming?" Dizzy asked excitedly.

"I can take you to the Enchanted Lake!" Evie said with a smile.

They both squeal quickly in excitement.

"I can't believe I get to live with you in your very own castle!" Dizzy said.

"It's just a little starter castle," Evie said modestly.

"I brought Ronan," I revealed the dog to Sky.

She brightened as the dog began to crawl all over her. Ronan kissed her cheek, making the smaller girl giggle. Carlos smiled fondly at the girl, then looked over at Squeaky.

I heard Celia giving Ben a tarot reading as I looked behind me, watching the barrier closing behind us.

Suddenly, Hades stuck his hand through the barrier with his emerald in hand, attempting to open the barrier wider.

"It's Hades!" I yelled.

"Stop the car, he's trying to escape!" Evie yelled.

Jay stopped and we all stepped out of the car. By then, Hades had gotten a hole in the barrier big enough to fit his head.

"I am a god! I don't belong here!" Hades yelled as his hair lit on fire.

Jay, Ben, and Carlos stepped in front of us, only to be shot at. They fell to the floor, weakened. I glared at him as Mal turned into a dragon. Hades looked at her, terrified. He shot a beam at her, making her yell in pain.

"Come on, Mal, blast him!" Jay said encouragingly.

Mal roared at him, making the beam weaken. I dug through my pockets and threw the potion bottle at him. It exploded and blasted him back. I helped Carlos up, supporting him under the shoulder.

"Explosive?" Carlos questioned breathlessly.

"Be thankful I didn't turn him into a llama," I growled.

"Easy, sweetheart," Carlos said quietly.

"Are you okay?" Evie asked when Mal transformed back.

"No!" Mal said, holding her chest. "He was draining all my magic with that ember, and I felt my powers slipping away."

"He's back where he belongs," I heard Evie reassure Mal as I ran over to the limo.

"Sky?" I questioned, climbing back into the limo.

"(Y/n), I'm scared," the girl quivered, holding Ronan close to her.

"It's okay. Everything's okay now. You're going to be okay. I'm here, everything's okay now," I said soothingly.

She clung onto me as everyone climbed into the limo. I felt a couple tears stain my jacket, but I didn't hear her crying. I didn't make her let go. I knew she got scared easily.

We made it back to Evie's house and I helped Sky and Squeaky out of the limo.

"Come on," I said softly, leading her toward the house.

She shuffled nervously into the house, jumping at the house settling from time to time. I led her to her room, where she brightened instantly. It had many similarities to her bedroom, but was comfier and with more warmth.

"You like it?" I smiled.

"I love it!" she exclaimed, flopping down on the bed.

"And... I learned a couple sewing tips from Evie," I held up her own leather jacket.

She eagerly slipped it on and admired the seamwork. How was this girl so adorable?

"Can I see your room?" Sky looked up at me with huge eyes.

I giggled, nodding. I took her hand and led her to Carlos and I's room. I smiled at the sunlit room. Our bed was neatly made, and the clothes were neatly hung in the open closet.

"It's so cool!" Sky twirled around the room. "What's this?"

She pulled out Carlos's old jacket and I smiled. I lightly took it from her and slipped my arms through the sleeves. It still fit as I looked in the mirror. "Who's jacket's that?"

"This is Carlos's. He gave it to me almost a year ago. It's crazy that it's almost been six months," I said softly.

Sky smiled and I waved her away. She giggled down the hallway as I ran my fingers through my purple hair. I had changed so much.

"(Y/n)-" Carlos cut off when he saw me in the jacket. He smiled and walked up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. He moved my hair aside and kissed my cheek.

"It still fits," I whispered.

"And you're still as beautiful as the day I met you," Carlos added.

I turned around and kissed him, smiling slightly. He pulled away, connecting our foreheads. I bumped our noses together, slightly rubbing them side-to-side. "I love you," Carlos whispered.

"I love you too," I smiled.
