"Think of me while I'm gone."
"Sure, dog boy."
"(Y/n), this is my daughter, Skylar."
"She's gorgeous, Scar. I'm sure (Y/n) will look after her."
"Of course, Mother."
I slightly screamed when I saw the dog in the box. She was in rough shape. Her fur coat was completely black and brown from mud and dirt, and her eyes were black with hope. I carefully walked toward her and she sniffed my hand, licking it joyfully. I smiled. She seemed very friendly.
"Do you need a home, girl?"
Almost like she understood me, she nodded.
I picked her up out of the box and grimaced at the dirt that rubbed onto my hands. I held her out, examining her. She tilted her head to the side. "Let's clean you up."
I immediately moved as we unfroze, pink dust surrounding us. Carlos hugged me and Sky in relief as the others realized what was going on.
"Come on. Let's go," Ben said.
We nodded and started walking toward the direction of the school.
Mal led me to the tower and I helped move Audrey to her dorm. I laid her down and tucked her under the sheets, folding her hands on her stomach. She looked peaceful as the others gathered in the room.
"She's slipping away," Evie said quietly.
"There's only one person in the world who can do something about it, and that's Hades," Mal sighed.
"Hades? He wouldn't do it. I won't risk it," Ben shook his head.
"Actually he might do it for me. He's my father," Mal explained.
There was a shocked silence as everyone looked at each other.
"Well, I'll have to send guards to get him," Ben murmured.
"Maybe I can hitch a ride," Uma said. "The Isle is my home. Somebody needs to be there to protect it."
"Well, then. You'll need your first mate," Harry said, walking up and standing next to Uma.
"The Isle will be in very good hands," Mal smiled.
"Can I go too?" Celia asked. "I wish I can be in both places."
Mal stood up, looking at them. "I really think Evie was right. And, I do think we could've been friends. And I'm really sorry I lied to all you guys. You deserve so much better than that," Mal apologized.
"You were just trying to do the right thing," Jay shrugged.
"Yeah," Uma agreed.
Evie reached a hand over to Mal's. "I get it."
Sky hugged onto me, and I already knew the answer of whether she wanted to go or not. I did not understand the bond we had, but she felt safe with me. She felt safe with us.
