The Ultimate Unwilling Sacrifice

"A sacrifice Harry, a sacrifice so horrific yet cunning, true to the name of Voldemort."

Placing his hand gently over his professor's, he squeezed it in comfort, receiving a small smile.

"The dark mark as you know Harry is a binder for his followers, it allows him to track their movements, call them, punish them and even kill them through the mark. This type of magical connection is far more soul binding than your simple scar connection, the dark mark after being tied to the magical cores of over 300+ death eaters, sworn to loyalty by it. Such a strong soul bonding connection to a large amount of magical beings has tied his own soul to their marks, albeit I assume it was probably a fluke. After going through the calculations with Professor Snape, and having consent from him to probe his dark mark on his own forearm, we were able to make the connections... When being struck with the killing curse when you were a babe, instead of dying and taking all of his followers with him, his incorporeal form roamed as a vengeful spirit, only someone with an intense amount of hatred and unfinished business could had escaped a narrow death, he then possessed Quirrell from there, before once again being forcibly removed and having to possess young Ginny Weasley in your second year, through a minute possession of Lucius Malfoy during their confrontation in Diagon Alley, draining her life force until he was able to regain a corporeal form of his younger self, of which to you looked like a young Tom Riddle, and then through your defeat of the basilisk and unknowingly touching Ginny Weasley you forced Voldemort out of her body using your mother's sacrifice once again, he roamed for another body of which I do not know who. I assume this will be his final body before his resurrection..."

Harry released a breath he didn't release he was holding and continue to watch.

"And if my calculations are correct they'll find an appropriate host, possibly a homunculus that will hold his soul permanently, through a ritual of summoning using their dark marks."

Braving to speak, Harry tentatively asked...

"So what will happen if Voldermort dies for the second time?"

He squeezed his eyes shut in anticipation...

"He will simply die this time, you can only, after all, become a vengeful spirit once"

Breathing a sigh of relief, he closed his eyes only for them to spring open in realisation.

"And the death eaters connected to him?"

His mentor, making direct eye contact responded with two words that took the breath from his lungs.

"They'll die."

His eyes closed resolutely at those two words, such slavery, such binding, such a foul way to control them, even if their nature is of evil nature. Professor Snape...

"You have an incredible amount of compassion Harry, far more than I do, to immediately think of their well fare is an commendable feature to have, and I hope when Voldemort's time eventually does come to an end, that you'll continue to remember them and mourn for their fierce departures of our world..."

Fisting his hands into his robes, chin tucked into his chest and eyes tightly squeezed shut he sobbed. He cried for them. A tidal wave of emotions came over him, and he was soon roughly encased in the arms of his mentor, trembling violently his heart clenched at their sacrifice, at their unwilling sacrifice...

For some it will be an honour to their lord, for others it will be agony.

Professor Snape , oh god even if he is a greasy git sometimes, I don't want him to die like that, to have his life forcibly taken in a way, simply for the rise of another...

" Harry, some of them will suffer for their sins, others will try and rest peacefully in the gentle folds of the afterlife, right now, all we can do is try to at least save a few of them."

Upon hearing his words, Harry nodded minutely within the colourful robes of his professor.

"Professor do you have any idea as to when they will try to pull him back from the dead through the dark mark?"

A deep mournful sigh resonated from his professor at that remark.

"I believe the death eaters have been gathering, the raids have increased, and now with you being unwillingly forced into the tournament, I have reason to believe they are planning something by the end of the third task."

And with that, he shuddered.
