The dress robes, they had designed together, had not yet being created, and so Harry set up a contact between Lyle and himself, so that delivering them or correspondences/inquiries could be made via owl.
Harry had asked Lyle to keep the final viewing of the robes to himself, so that he may have surprise on the day, Lyle, being entrusted with such an important task, gave a big winning smile and promised to add his own embellishments to make him stand out from the rest.
Upon hearing that Harry paled dramatically, making Lyle guffaw loudly.
After an hour inside, and saying a heartfelt thank you and good bye to his companion Lyle, he waltzed out of the store with a lighter step, already feeling the stress of the ball leave his shoulders.
After being unable to spot Professor McGonogall in the street he made a guess and headed to Madam Puddifoot's in hopes she had gone for a drink.
His assumptions were correct when he was waved over by his professor upon entry of the café. Taking a seat across from her he then noticed that Professor Flitwick was also with her, sat on his high stool generously given by Madam Puddifoot herself.
"Hello professors" He greeted each in turn before ordering himself a mug of hot chocolate to combat the chill emanating from the constant swinging open of the front door
"Mr Potter! Why how nice of you to join us" Professor Flitwick greeted with a sharp toothed smile across his goblin features.
"Mr Potter how did your visit to Galrags go? I assume you have a robe in making..." She gave him a smile from behind her own mug of herbal tea.
"It was indeed successful professor, I should be expecting my dress robes soon... Lyle is a very kind-hearted fellow, very efficient too mind you." He couldn't help but grin at the shocked expressions of his professors at the use of Mr Galrag's first name.
"I see you've made another friend then Mr Potter, glad see you are making use of your heritage" Professor Flitwick commented idly whilst staring into his mug of butterbeer.
"Well now that you have dress robes, have you perchance come across a partner for your dance yet?" McGonogall glanced over him, face hopefull.
"Why professor, interested to see who I'm going with?" He grinned at her spluttering of her tea
"Why! Mr Potter! I'm simply curious that is all..." She told him sternly, before setting down her mug and crossing her arms in indignation
Professor Flitwick gave a squeak before breaking into peals of laughter, calming down slightly he was able to get a few high-pitched words out
"He... got you good there Minerva!"
Sparing his professor a few seconds to calm himself, he turned towards his head of house and smiled congenially.
"In fact professor I have yet to ask anyone" Upon saying this he contemplating asking one person in mind, she had immediately, upon hearing the bullying Gryffindor had done to him, stampeded into the common room and put them all severely in their place for their actions. Something that made him smile greatly upon, he hadn't expected anyone to do anything for him, so it was a welcomed surprise.
"Well you'd best get a move on then Mr Potter, all the ladies and even the men themselves mind you are being snatched up like free candy" She snorted into her own cup, chuckling at the horrified expression Harry had taken on.
"You haven't been already asked have you Minerva!" Harry exclaimed in horror of his only choice of partner.
He had hoped to repay her with a dance for her putting down the Gryffindors not long ago...
Upon hearing his exclamation and the use of her first name had her eyes bulging out of their sockets and projectile tea come streaming from her lips in shock.
Professor Flitwick just broke out into peals of laughter again.
