After saying a quiet goodnight to his professor, Harry quickly left the kitchens and headed back to the Gryffindor Common Room. Not even bothering to light a lumos in fear of rousing the portraits from their slumbers, he quickly padded down the corridor, making fast right and left turns, before spotting The Fat Lady's portrait just ahead of him.
Tapping The Fat Lady lightly, he muttered a quiet apology when she reluctantly awoke from her peaceful sleep.
"What on earth..." She ceased her mutters when looking down and spotting one of her Gryffindors stood in front of her.
"Young lad, shouldn't you be deep in morpheus right now? It's well past two in the morning lad."
Politely smiling, he withheld his groan of frustration at her slow uptake of the situation.
"My apologies my Lady , I was having a late night conference with the Headmaster whom you can attest my reason if you do not believe, if the password has not changed... then Gillywead."
After uttering the password, the portrait swung open before she could even attest, hearing her still stuttering he continued on into the common room before springing up the stairs and flopping down onto his bed, quietly drawing his curtains he didn't even bother to change, as he was already deep in morpheus...
Upon awakening, he was immediately greeted with the daily cacophony of grumbles indicating the sun's rising. Pushing back the curtains he slid off of his bed and changed into a pair of weathered jeans and a black t-shirt, picking up his school robe he flung it around himself before heading downstairs into the common room.
A silence instantly reigned over the common room upon Harry's arrival, looks of astonishment, incredulity and jealousy dominated the faces of his peers. Gosh it's like I've turning into an angel or something... He shook his head, ridding himself of his thoughts and headed straight for the portrait, hoping to catch Professor McGonagall before she heads down to Hogsmead with his year mates.
But before he could escape into the main hallway he was held back by a freckled hand belonging to a traitorous Weasley he once knew.
"Hey mate, how are you doing? What the heck were you thinking with that monster in the stadium, flying off with her, Charlie is really mad with you, the Hungarian Horntail hasn't returned. Let's go to Great Hall yeah?"
Amidst his incessant chattering he had began to pull Harry away from his opposite direction. Taking a deep breath he dug his feet into the cobblestones and pulled away from his grip.
"Weasley release me at once!"
Surprised by the force of his voice, Ron let go and turned to his mate, stunned. By passers had stopped to watch the conflict, gaping at the tone coming from Harry's voice.
"If you haven't realised yet, I am heading in a different direction, because I have other things to do, other than watch you inhale your breakfast in an unseemly manner!" He snapped at the frozen redhead.
Straightening his cloak he spun on his heel and left the still frozen Weasley in the corridor, a gaggle of students immediately began chattering, spreading word of his coldness to his golden mate already.
Huffing to himself, Harry quickly headed towards the courtyard where his head of house stood amongst the gaggle of students. Pushing his way past the students he rapidly scaled the staircase to stand beside his professor.
"Excuse me professor, could I have a word with you please?" As politely as he could he broke her from her attention on the students and stood marginally straighter when she turned to him.
And gaped.
"M-Mr Potter! You've returned from your escapade I see, the Headmaster has already spoken with me about your kitchen conversation, so there is no need to prove your absence." She added upon seeing him open his mouth to object.
Grinning slightly at the fact Dumbledore had stood up for him in front of his Head Lioness, he cleared his throat and worded his next few words carefully...
"Professor what will you be doing during Hogsmead?"
"I'll be patrolling the main street of Hogsmead why?" She returned his question slyly, internally clapping at his choice of question instead of his usual demanding to go to Hogsmead without a consent form.
"Well, my relatives were unable to sign my consent form due to extenuating circumstances and I was wondering if you would escort me to Madam Malkins so that I may order some new clothes, since I was unable acquire robes for the Yule Ball, I am after all a Tri-Wizard Champion"
She answered him with a rare smile
"Mr Potter this time only! Shall I allow you to go to Hogsmead under my supervision"
Grinning widely he offered her his arm, seeing her loop hers around his, he began head down to Hogsmead, with a gaggle of gaping students behind them.
