After lingering long enough, Harry began to slowly walk forward towards the watching dragon. Concentrating strongly on the image of his firebolt, he yelled "ACCIO FIREBOLT", before extending his right hand...
After a minute of tense silence, mutterings began to rise from the crows, and he blushed in shame. The firebolt never came, his plan completely foiled, he relied so strongly on his ability to summon his broom, and it failed.
Loud jeering began to utter from the stadium, one particular snot nose weasel named Malfoy made a fierce comment and not no later did laughter break out from the audience. Harry retracted his hand and stared resolutely at the dragon 400 yards in front of him. Right then, lets try this... Casting a sonorus charm on himself he took a deep breath and before the audience could comprehend what he was doing, loud traces of hissing began streaming from his lips. The audience was stunned, never in a million years would they imagine that Harry Potter would resort to his shunned Parsletongue ability.
$Can you understand me I wonder?$ He proceeded to utter in snake tongue to the Horntail in front of him.
The Horntail perked at hearing the smooth syllables of the snake tongue she knew so well, this boy can speak it? How incredible...
$Great mother dragon I beseech thee to heed my call...$ The smooth, sultry tones flowed from his mouth, echoing across the stunned silent stadium.
Before he could begin his next sentence, he was interrupted by the rumbling of hissing that was returned to him in a much lower decibel, one that sounded like a moving mountain.
$Tell me hatchling how you can speak the ancient tongue? I am greatly interested.$
Surprise flickered across Harry's face, he hadn't expected the dragon to reply, he intended only to sooth it so that he could eventually slip past, but obviously the dragon had other plans. Composing himself he spoke once again.
$My lady I inherited it$
$Oh?$
She responded curiously, and before Harry could comprehend was was occurring she began to make her way over to him, she continued to close in on him until she was a mere snapping distance from him. He could feel the heat of her breath has she looked down on him with great interest. Sensing no imminent danger from him, she slowly lay down onto the gravel of the stadium, keeping her eyes trained on.
Harry's eyebrows had risen to his hairline upon witnessing the movement of the dragon and soon followed suit, completely ignoring the breakout of screams and chatter from the audience. The occasional flash of a camera from one Colin Creevey in the audience.
$Would you like to chat with me Lady dragon? I can promise I will be of great interest...$
Harry offered, silently hoping she would accept his offer and talk with him for a while. After all it was so nice to talk to someone, after the treatment he was subjected to during the tournament, a good natured conversation had not been enacted upon in a while and he was begin to feel the tell tale longing of company.
The dragon seemed to mimic the sound of a laugh, and chuffed a great big gust of air into his face.
$Hatchling~ You have only ask and I will gladly accept your company. You are already of great interest now that we can speak to each other. Although I feel our audience may soon feel bored with our constant hissing. And enough of the Lady Dragon, my name is Haruvisial, although you may call me Haru, hatchling~$
Upon hearing her kind words, a large grin spread across Harry's face. He abruptly stood up and turned to the crowd. Addressing the judge panel in particular he said
" I have struck up a friendship with Haruvisial, and I wish to converse further with her, and so I hereby forfeit this task to continue our conversation. "
The crowd instantly broke out into shouts of rage and rejection, the judges began muttering among themselves for a minute before turning back to watching him down in the pit of the stadium.
Albus Dumbledore rose from his seat with a twinkle in his eyes and calmly asked
"Very well Mr. Potter we shall forfeit your position and your score shall be marked as zero, are you sure you want to continue?"
Upon hearing his judgement he smiled jovially and whole heartily agreed. And on that note, the crowds began to dissipate from the stands and the judge officials begrudgingly left their posts until only Harry and the Horntail remained.
Seeing no one around and everyone already outside of the stadium, Harry immediately lifted his wand and destroyed the chains holding Haruvisial.
$Now then, shall we move to a more comfortable place for our discussion?$ He asked with a content smile upon his face
$Of course hatchling, a nice patch of grass high up in the mountains will do, but what about my clutch? They are just as important as you are hatchling, and I do not want to leave them unattended$
Haruvisial responded before glancing towards her clutch of eggs laid neatly upon her nest.
$Ah well, I suppose we'll take them with us then shall we?$
He said thoughtfully whilst unshrinking his satchel from his pocket that held his extra pair of clothing. He enlarged his satchel to be the same size as Haruvisial's head and carefully one by one levitated the five eggs into the satchel, before levitating it and looping it securely around Haru's head.
$Well then, now that's solved, climb on to my back hatchling and I shall fly us there...$ She replied approvingly after watching Harry safely store away her clutch.
Seeing her lower her head, he slowly climbed the ridge of her back before sitting safely behind her head and gripping tightly onto the ridges on her neck.
$Off we go then!$
And she took off into the air and towards the nearby mountain region...
