I sit alone with a note in hand. A note that I'm still thinking about giving to Abigail that tells her what I did. I can't hide it from her because then that would really make her overthink this whole thing. What if she dumps me, though? Would Val let me stay at her place? It's now January, Christmas was a great success and I made sure to get the Palmer's all something and even got Valerie something too. The door opens and I scrunch up the paper in my hand and stand to shove it in my pocket. Abigail enters with a small infectious smile. "Hey, V. How was last nights concert?" She asks. "Good. Great, actually. We Got another one next month. February the forth. You sleep well on your own?" I ask as I go to give her a quick peck.

"Yeah. I was lonely but I slept well." She kisses me back and hugs me before sitting at her desk. "I'll be here all day if you need me. I need to start looking for a nearby job for when I leave school." "Cool. I'll be out with Val anyway. She wants me to help her with her art project," I reply nervously. "No worries. Just stay safe, okay? Val can get a little too hyped when it comes to art projects sometimes." I nod and kiss her before leaving with a smile, dumping the balled up note into the trash. Something tells me Val doesn't want to do something art related. She never seemed to be an art person, really.

When I arrive at her garage, all I hear is Sum 41's Best Of Me playing at full blast with her beautiful voice singing along. I enter to see her also playing along with her electric guitar. I decide to stay quiet until she finished, and when she did, she looked to me and blushed heavily. "Damn, you're a fucking ninja," she says as she puts away her guitar. "You were literally blasting the music and singing your heart out," I say with a chuckle. "Okay, I know I said today was about an art project but it's actually about your wings." She says as she takes my shoulders and stares me in the eyes with a funny but serious look.

"You want me to try and fly, don't you?" I ask rhetorically. "There's a cool cliff side that no body goes to and overlooks a different town. Come on, it'll be fun." I sigh and nod as I catch a shirt she threw at me with two holes on the back. "You got a sweater too, right? Don't want you freezing your ass off." "I'm wearing one under this jacket." We climb into her car and leave without wait. She really is getting super hyped and I find it kinda cute. A super angst aggressive punk being childishly excited about something.

"So, how's you 'n' Misty doin'?" She asks. "Great. Can't wait to get her something for Valentine's day. Not sure what I'll get her but I'll get her something. Probably a cute necklace," I answer. "Cute. I can actually see you and her lasting longer than a year. No promises, though. You never know what's around the corner." I nod with acknowledgement and look to her with a soft smile. We arrived around twenty minutes later and I'm stunned by the view. It reminds me of a view you can get in San Francisco but instead of the bridge, there's an entire town surrounded by trees. It looks like it was built in a valley and the most noticeable feature is that the trees almost bend towards the town.

We spend a few minutes getting ready. My wings were out and hand made top on. Fortunately the air was still so freezing won't be too much of a problem. "Right, try move them around," she demands leaning against her car. I obey and look at the right wing and I subconsciously tell it to move anti-clockwise. "No, no. Without looking. You gotta feel confident about this, Tori." I nod and look to the ground, attempting to move them. It was awkward at first, feeling something on my back move like it had a mind of its own. Now, it feels like they've had a good warm up and are able to move smoothly.

"Awesome sauce. Now, uh... Try to lift yourself off the ground with your wings." "How do I do that?" She pushes off her car and took my shoulders again with a smirk. "Just... Think of it as sex." I laugh and smirk back. "Of course you'd think of that. Hot blondie with wings must turn you on," I reply. "True but I mean it. Start off slow. Move them sorta anti-clockwise. Put more energy pushing the wings down than you would when pulling them up." "That... Makes sense."
