Sea patrol

Season 4 episode 8

I was out on deck with bird,swain,2dads,charge and some others "okay, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, now, i know you all think you know CPR back to front" swain said even though i was confused for the first half "RPC" charge said i chuckled "thank you charge" swain said he continued "as with everything, if we don't use it, we lose it, now, bird has very kindly agreed to assist with today's exercise so i'll be needing some volunteers" as soon as he said that all of their hands shoot straight up but mine stayed down i'm okay with just watching then swain said with slight chuckle to his voice "great to see they're all so keen" yeah because bird but i have a funny feeling it won't be bird they will be doing cpr on, then charge walked forward and said "ah, i hate to pull rank" i chuckled because 2dads wasn't to happy about it, "lead from the front boys, lead from the front" charge really should stop with the gloating but the thing i more weirded out by is the fact that bird is only 18 and they all want to connect their mouths to hers like am i the only one weirded out, swain thanked him

I was getting bored from swains little CPR lesson so i sat down on the hatch, "i will be needing one more, though" i see were this is going, bird clearly isn't the one who going to be needing CPR, all the guys have there hands up swain looked at bird and asked bird who she thought should do it and she said, 

"Hmm 2dads." 

This is going to be the best thing i have seen all day, "now, in this drill, charge, you've collapsed, and 2dads, you'll be performing CPR on him" and as soon as charge heard that he got up so fast it would make your head spin.

"Now, just a reminder that CPR begins with two emergency breaths mouth-to-mouth before we begin chest compressions" the boys tried to interupt swain because they obviously didn't like the fact they had to breath into each others mouths "yeah, just give me a minute, guys, the resuscitator must firstly check that the airway is clear before he places his mouth tightly over the mouth of the patient."

At this point i'm just ready to break into a fit of laughter just by the way the boys are looking at swain but i didn't i was trying to stay professional, "swain?" swain looked at charge and said "yes?" 

"You said that bird was going to assist" then 2dads joined in "you did, we all heard you" i butted in and said "he did, but some of us figured it out alot quicker then other, i'm gonna guess that bird is going to be timing your compressions" swain looked at me and said "correct scar" i grinned at the boys who gave me a look to shut up. 

"guys, in the real world, we don't get a choice over whose life we're called upon to save, we have a responsibility to do everything we possibly can no matter who the person is." 2dads walked up to swain and said "but, swaino, it charge" 

"Every life is sacred."

"Hey, i'm not exactly jumping out of my skin either." 

Swain obviously is started to get annoyed at them because he then said "all right, enough, and don't you guys worry, you'll all be getting a turn at this later on, charge" swain clicked his finger as a way to tell charge to get on the ground "assume the position" charge got on the ground and swain told 2dads to get down aswell "any toungue, and you are a dead man." This made me stand up, 2dads opened charges mouth and slowly made his way down i love this and i'm using this against but before anything actually happened we heard over the intercom "brace, brace, brace, brace, brace!" 

We all fell to the side as the ship made a hard turn one of the boys caught me before i could fall and i made sure we both landed on the railing, we all looked to the side to see what it was and it looked like a container of some sort
