The next day I insisted coming to work, it went by quickly meeting after meeting. I took the subway home around 5 and got ready for the dinner that was supposed to be around 7. Marco sent me a dress that afternoon that I laid out on the bed and stared at for about 20 minutes before actually putting it on. It was a long black form fitted dress with delicate accents. I curled my hair and put on some more makeup then usual, just enough to be presentable.

Marco came to my house 20 minutes earlier than I expected.
"Which tie?" He held up two frantically.
"The red."I suggested.
"Ok." He said relieved and started to tie it onto himself.
"Don't be nervous." I rubbed the back of his neck and kissed him.
He hesitantly kissed me back, "How are you feeling?"
"Much better." I adjusted my dress.
"You look beautiful." He admired from the entryway as I bent down to slip on some heels.
"Who got you the roses?" He walked over to the table.
"Uh..Luke did... " I answered "He said it was on behalf of the company." I lied.
"That's nice of him." He smirked.

He came back over towards me at the middle of the room. "I don't have to worry about him, do I." He slipped his hands around my waist as his voice grew deeper. I grew silent.
"No you don't." I reassured him as I kissed his cheek and started to walk away.
He turned me back his direction and passionately kissed me. As our tongues met and lips collided furiously. He took my breath away.
"Good." He said against my lips as he released me.

We drove into he suburbs a bit and made it to a really nice neighborhood, "my parents don't reside at the house anymore, I grew up here with Luke and my sister Ana, but my parents retired in Venice Italy. The house is more of a keepsake to them." He informed me placing his hand down on my thigh.
We pulled into a long brick driveway that was surrounded by beautiful statues of animals, and god like people.
We parked behind Luke's red convertible.
We walked up to the door of a beautiful grey stone house that looked like the size of 4 of my childhood house put together.
We were greeted by the housekeeper, Linda she was about 50 years old and very timid.
"Can I take your coats." She offered.
Marco handed her his jacket and pulled off my shall exposing my bare shoulders.
"Thankyou." I nodded.
She nodded back.

We entered a living room that was the size of my entire apartment. The floor was beautiful wood flooring with a Persian rug laid across it and beautiful brown couches to accent.
"You made it!" Luke chuckled as everyone turned around.
A grey haired man stood up just as tall or taller than the two brothers. "Floyd Smart." He said sternly and greeted me holding out his hand. "Jessica..." "Lange." I said nervously as I shook his hand.
"Hello again Jessica." His mother said firmly, not rising from her seat.
"Oh my god Jessica you are stunning!", his sister stood up and hugged me, I was shocked but quickly hugged back.
"Thankyou! You must be Ana?" I said enthusiastically.
"Yes I am." She took my hand at sat me down next to her as Marco followed.
"Dinner will be ready shortly." His mother took a sip of wine setting it in front of her.
"Linda!" "Bring Ms. Lange a glass would you." She hollered into the kitchen.
"Oh no thank you." I spoke up.
His mother looked at me suspiciously.
"She had an operation earlier this week no alcohol for her." Marco chimed in as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"I see." His mother looked up from her seat.
"Dinner is Ready Mrs. Smart." Linda announced from the other room.

We made our way into a beautiful dining room with a long wooden table covered by a satin ruby red table cloth. The chairs had high backings and soft black cushioning. Marco directed me to a seat next to him and Ana sat beside me on the other side. We sat across from his parents and from Luke. Luke didn't take his eyes off me all night we exchanged a series of glances, but never enough for Marco to catch on, I had butterflies every time our gaze met.

"So Jessica where did you meet Marco?" Floyd spoke up from taking a sip of scotch.
"I actually met him through work." I announced as Marco grabbed my hand underneath the table cloth.
His mother cleared his throat, "And what is your position?" She looked at me unamused.
"She's Marcos secretary." Luke spoke up for me.
"That's so cute." Ana exclaimed excitedly.
"Ana!" Her mother looked over at her displeased.
Floyd cleared his throat, "So where are you from?"
"Um I'm originally from San Francisco, California." I spoke before taking a bite of salad.
"Ah, California." His mother said taking a sip of wine. "If I remember correctly wasn't Bella from California." Luke looked up at Marco challengingly.
