tears and flower petals

The bus dropped the Hamiltons home and instead of following his father to the front door, Philip walked right past his house.
"Where you going?" Alexander called after him
"The shop." Philip replied without looking back
"Why?" Alexander was suddenly filled with panic, that's what John had said and never came back
"To get flowers."
Alexander's panic was suddenly eased, he was getting flowers for a special someone, he was curious as to who.
"For who?"
"Just someone."
"Do you like someone?"
"No pa."
"Then why are you buying flowers?"
Philip whirled around.
"If you didn't know it's my dad's death anniversary so I'm buying flowers to put on his grave, happy now?"
"Oh." Alexander's heartache grew stronger
"Can I come with you?"
Philip stopped and smiled.
"Yeah."
They picked out daffodils, Johns favourite, and made their way to his grave.
Philip placed the flowers infront of the grey stone and the dropped to his knees so hard that alex thought his kneecaps would crack and began sobbing harder than ever.
He kissed the stone and weeped.
Tears slowly fell out of Alex's eyes and soon joined his son in crying and hugging the grave stone.
"I miss you daddy." Pip whispered
"I miss you Jackie." Alex whispered
They began to share memories that they had and were soon laughing and remembering the good times.
"It's getting late pip, we should go." Alex said finally.
Philip began walking out alex stopped him.
"Jump on my back."
"What?" Philip said, laughing slightly
"Jump on."
Philip grasped his fathers shoulders and jumped on his back and they ran home, laughing and shrieking. They passed Aaron and Theo, sitting on a bench and reading. They looked up, confused.
Philip waved excitedly.
"HI THEO!" He practically screamed
She chuckled
"Hey philly."
Philip's cheeks flushed bright red and he looked down bashfully.
"Oooooo baby pippy has a crush." Alex teased
"No i don't." Pip wined in response
But that was a lie
