They were back at Lin's house, Theo was laying on top of Philip and they were both fast asleep.
Theo's curls were softly tickling Philip's freckles nose, making it twitch slightly. They both shifted and stirred. Theo lifted her head and smiled at Philip who grinned right back, flashing her his slightly crooked teeth.
Lin watched from the kitchen as they pressed their lips together.
He sipped his coffee loudly, forcing them to break apart.
"Moooorning." He smirked as the kids scrambled around, getting up and clearing their throats.
It was the weekend so they just lazed around, Philip grabbed his skateboard and dragged Theo to the skatepark.
"But i can't even skate philly."
"I'll teach you baby."
The he turned red
"S-s-sorry." He stuttered
Theo giggled
"It's okay baby." She smirked
Theodosia wobbled on the skateboard.
"Catch me if I fall pip." She squealed, falling into his arms.
They linked hands and Philip pulled her along gently then he showed off, performing tricks and going down ramps. Theodosia clapped when he finished.
Walking home, they went to 7/11 and bought slushies, mixing every fallout until their drinks were rainbow messes.
He carried the smaller girl on his back and dropped her off at her house.
"See you tomorrow?" He asked
"Yeah, be right here at 11."
They both grinned and pressed their lips together
"Bye teddy, love you ."
"Love you to pippy."
It only occurred to Philip that he had told Theodosia burr that he loved her when he was near Lin's house.
He smiled warmly as he remembered she had said it back
