Josephs POV:
"i really shouldn't be doing this." I thought as i checked the time on my pocket watch, 2:30am.
I grabbed my jacket, my usual blue one with gold accents, and crept out of my room as silently as i possibly could. There wasn't many rules in the manor but one of them was to not go into the survivors side of it, yet here i am about to do exactly that. I didn't even want to think of the trouble i could get into for doing this, i mean if the manor host has the power to keep us in here and make us play this game then what could they do to someone breaking the rules. Shaking the thought out of my head, i took a picture of the hallway, where both sides joined, and went into the photo world. It will be easier to make my way through the survivors side in the photo world because it means i have no chance of being spotted.
Opening the door between the two manor sides, i crept into the survivors lobby. Their manor looked the same as the hunters really, except there was more chairs at the dining table and everything was cleaner and tidier. I walked over to the door labeled "Garden" and walked in, coming back into the real world once i had double checked the door was shut behind me.
"De...Aesop?" I whispered, looking around "Where are you?"
Getting my pocket watch out again, i checked the time. 3:00am exactly. Its okay he is probably heading over here now then. I walked over to a bench and sat down to wait for him.
A few minutes passed and i started to walk around the garden to pass the time .
"Its fine, its fine. He's probably just trying to move around as quietly as possible so that's why it's taking him so long." I mumbled trying to reassure myself. The reassurance didn't work very well so i went back to sit and wait on the bench.
More time had passed and i was still waiting on the bench so i decided to check the time again, 4:00am
"That's it i give up..." I sighed before getting up and walking towards the door.
As I twisted the handle and opened the door, a disheveled looking embalmer fell into my arms.
"Are you okay!?" I said holding him up so he didn't fall over
Aesop quickly realised the situation he was in and stood up straight, brushing dust of his clothes.
"Im so sorry... i tried to get some sleep quickly and lost track of time and when i woke up i was already late." Aesop stuttered, with his head hung down.
"That's okay your here now at least." I smiled, leading him over to the bench "What is it you wanted to talk about?"
Aesop looked up into my eyes and sighed. His eyes are beautiful... they are more like silver gems really and they shine every time i looked into them.
"T..that match we played in, the one where we first met..." Aesop began "You spared me, you didn't even tie me to balloons, you carried me..." "And you called me dear, you keep calling me dear..."
He stopped staring at me and looked back at his lap. "W..why? Why m..me?"
"Damn..." I thought. I can't tell him the real reason, survivors and hunters aren't meant to even communicate. What am i meant to say? He reminds me too much of Claude i cant upset him... I think i might even be in love with him...
"It was your first match it was the least i could do..." I lied, trying to smile
"Oh... I see..." Aesop mumbled. "A..and what about calling me dear...?" He looked back up into my eyes.
For some reason he looked sad, why was he sad. I wanted to comfort him so badly but i didn't know how he would react, i'm a hunter after all. I reached my hand out to him and held his cheek, bringing his face closer to mine. He didn't even flinch so i looked into his eyes and brought his face closer, now placing both my hands on his cheeks. My head was spinning but i felt alright with him. I looked at his mask and then back up to his eyes. Why did he even wear it? I wanted to look at his whole face but it was getting in the way. Slowly, I unhooked the straps on the sides of his mask.
"ah!" Aesop jolted away from me and replaced his mask.
"I'm sorry i overstepped." I said reaching my hand out to him.
Aesop sat looking back at his lap, not saying a word.
As much as it hurt me to say it i sighed "We probably shouldn't speak again..."
I went to get up and leave when Aesop grabbed my arm. "Please..." He said handing me a rose. "Keep this to remember me by..."
The rose was a beautiful yellow colour, it was as bright as the sun and it filled me with hope that i would indeed get to speak to Aesop again. "Thank you." I smiled
"here take this..." I said before handing him my pocket watch. "Perhaps your be on time now dear."
I then went into the camera world and walked back to my room, grasping onto the flower and never wanting to let it go.

Aesop's POV:
"T...Thank you..." I whispered as Joseph disappeared into the camera world.
I fell onto my knees and held onto the watch. I was never going to be able to talk to him again and its all because of me. If i hadn't of jolted away things would've turned out differently and now i wont ever get that chance again. Back to the stupid endless games. Soft tears rolled down my cheeks as his words replayed in my head.
"Don't struggle Dear."
"Thank you Dear."
"Dear."
"we probably wont be able to talk again..."
The last one struck me and i clenched the watch harder, more tears falling from my eyes. I made my way back to my room and collapsed onto my bed. I tried to forget about him but it seemed all i did was just making me think more and more about him and now i cant even hear his voice say my name anymore. I never wanted to let go of the watch, i held onto it so tight as tears streamed onto my pillow and i eventually cried myself to sleep
