🎩 Prologue 16 : Selfish Three

Deuce pointed his magic pen to the monster then proceed to use magic attacks on the monster. He tried multiple spells on it but the results were still the same. The monster growled,getting tired of it and charged towards Deuce with a single swing of the monster's arm.

"Guh!"Deuce's back met the wall as [name] went to deuce checking if he had any fractured bones or injuries,luckily... he's alright.

"Stand back if you have no control, Mr. Serious! I'll stop it!"Ace pointed his magic pen at the monster."Haa!" gust of wind shoot out, attacking the monster. Yet again, it didn't work and the monster punched Ace.

"Wuuooooh!" the monster screamed. Ace fell on the ground as [name] came to aid Ace."Ace! Are you okay?" the boy closed an eye in pain."Y-Yeah..."he said. Grim trembled in fear and whimpered.

"F-fgna! Stay away!"grim let out a huge amount of blue fire but it didn't seem work, though you noticed a slight scratch in the bottle lamp. The monster dangerous growled at the intruders."It's not working at all!..."[name] gritted his teeths,trying to come up a plan. Then all of a sudden....

*Flick!* *Bling!*

"Did something just sparkled?!" You looked over behind the monster and saw the magic crystal blinking at the end of the tunnel. "It's over there! At the end of the tunnel!"Ace continued. The monster notice the intruders knew there was still magic crystal left and screamed.

"GOOOOUUH! WON'T GIVE!"

"L-l-l-let's get out of here!"Grim yelped."We're done for at this rate!"he said and went ahead running to the entrance followed by Deuce, [name] and Ace. [Name] tried his best to helped his friends as they ran away from the monster.

"GOOOOOUUUUHHH!"

The group soon arrived near the Dwarf's House, panting hard and tired from running. The trio drop on the ground, grim was panting and look at them."Is...this far enough?"Ace winces in pain holding his side. "Oww...what in the world was that? No one said anything about that!" [Name] looks at them."It didn't seem like any old ghost"Deuce groans.

[Name] remained silent,thinking of a better plan to beat the monster. Ace sighed."Let's give up and go home. I'd rather get expelled than fight that thing!"Deuce jolts up."What?! Don't screw with me! I'd rather die than face expulsion!" He said, clenching his fist glaring at Ace. Deuce pointed at the road,which is the Mine. "There's a magic crystal right in front of us and you wanna go home?!"

Ace huffed."Ha! You talk big for someone worse at magic than me!"he smirked and stood up. "Go alone if you want. I'm done" Deuce grip his fist together. "Oh, is that right? Then stay right there cowering like a spineless coward!" [Name] and Grim's eyes widen looking at Deuce.

"Me? A coward? Who exactly are you talking about?"Ace retorted. "U-uh...Deuce?..."[name] starts, grabbing deuce's attention."Did you switch up your character?..."Grim finishes. Deuce jolts back."A-ahem! My bad. I lost my composure a bit."

[Name] sighs,looking over to the Mine then to his friends."Can magic help us at all?"

"Like the headmaster said earlier, magic isn't all powerful. If you can't imagine it, then it won't materialize."Deuce explains."Large scale or complicated magic requires a lot of training to use." Ace continued to explain. "That's why we have schools for magic. You have to practice a lot to use magic just as it comes to mind."

[Name] stares at them for a moment. 'They talk big for someone who couldn't defeat the monster in the mine...talk about big knowledge...'

"Basically you'll screw up if you lose your cool"[Name] deadpans at Ace. 'But you two lost your cool...so easily.'

[name] mentally sighs."But everyone has just been using it willy nilly." You grumbled. Grim hops on your shoulder.

"At any rate, I'm going in there. I'll figure out how to beat that thing and come back with a magic crystal."Deuce said. Ace laughed and smirked. "Judging by the chandelier incident, you're a complete idiot." [Name] tried to talk to them but Ace retorts. "You couldn't land a single hit earlier but now you'll "figure it out"?" You were about to say again but he interrupts again as you are slowly getting irked by their arguments.

"It's going to end the same" ace said flapping his hands at Deuce.

"Come again?!"Deuce grips his fist together.

"Here they go again..."grim mumbles.

An irk mark appears on [name]'s cheek in annoyance as more started growing until he had enough of their rants and ramblings.

*Crack!* *Blag!*

"!?! Uwah!"

"F-fgna!?"

"Will you two knock it off already!?" [name] shouts.

"Waah! Why are you shouting all of a sudden?" Grim asks nervously.

The three trembled in fear and took a step back unconsciously when they saw [Name]'s fist punched the side of wall of the house. His fist sinked in the concrete's as pieces of it falls on the ground and the wall had a huge crack. Something surprised them when there was a hint of strange  purple symbol from your right eye behind from being covered by your bangs appears then it disappeared in short time.

[Name] sighed heavily."Neither of you could do anything back there."you said in a soft tone while rubbing the temples of your nose. Deuce look down in upset and Ace flinched, looking away. "B-But what exactly should we do?" You pump your fist on your open palm. "We have to come up with a proper strategy" [name] said.

"Strategy? You mean get along and work together?"Ace laughed but then frowned. "That's cold. You have no problem saying lame things with a serious face" Deuce huffed,crossing his arms. "Agreed. No way am I working with this loser."

[Name] sighs again then looks at them. "But...I feel like..."Grim started, looking up at [name]. "...its way lamer to get expelled on the first day of school."[name] finished. "That's...not cool at all" The three flinched and look down in shame. [Name] sighed heavily, placing his hands on his hips. "As you all know I don't have magic ever since the first day I came to school." Then he points at grim and the other two. "And then my life became a mess and you had caused trouble then you two who made it worse!"

"Now I just have a place to stay but then  I'm gonna lose it if it hadn't for all of you! The headmaster had to throw me now thanks to you."[name] said shaking his head. "I will fight for it even if I'm non-magic." [Name] declared.

Ace and Deuce sighed. "Ah...Fiiine!"Ace groaned."We just have to get it done,right? So? What's your plan?" He asked.

You nod your head."Definitely! I just want you guys to cooperate in the plan"
