🎩Prologue 18 : Tenacious Chase!

The group arrived at the Dwarf's house, but a thing followed them, dangerously.

"You're kidding! It knocked off all that stuff and came after us!" Ace said after looking behind.

"Uhh...ugghh! Give it...back!" the monster demanded.

[Name] and the others were already near the mirror portal but the monster didn't show any sight of stopping. "Shoot! It's gonna catch up to us!"deuce said,panicked. [Name] slowed down his speed and stopped, along with the others.

"It's weaker now, we might just..."[name] trailed off, letting the others catch what he means. Ace groaned in frustration. "Ah! Fine! Let's finish it!" Ace pointed his magic pen to the monster. "Don't let me down, Mr. Serious!" Grim stepped in front of them. "I'll show off my true power!"

Ace, Deuce and Grim combined their magic powers as a large amount of gust of wind fused together creating a huge blue fire tornado and deuce's cauldrons distracts the monster to make any move further.

"GRAAAUUUHHH!"

[Name]'s eyes widen in disbelief when he just saw a glimpse of person inside the monster as the monster dissolve into thin air like a black smoke reaching the darkest skies. He can't help but felt sorry for the thing then turn his gaze towards his friends, panting and tired. They used up all of their magics.

Your eyes narrowed when a black spot thingy appears in their magic pens crystal and collar, grim. He brushed it off thinking it must've been just a dust.

"We...did it?" Deuce huffed."W-we won?..." Ace looked at the remnants,shocked. "...we actually won!" Grim cheered jumping and stretching his arms out.

"Victory high fives!"

"Hooray!"

"We did it!"

[Name] smiled at the sight. "Is this that "adversity brings people together" thing?" he teased, catching the three off guard. "Ah! N-no. This is nothing like that!" Deuce said, hiding his face. "Y-yeah,yeah! Could you stop saying weird things?" Grim glared at you. "We won thanks to my genius..." You gave him a blank stare and dull look. "It's not because we pooled our strength!"

'I'm the genius here...you all just listened to my plans and cooperate...'[name] thought, sighing.

Ace smiled lightly."...I guess, making express is pretty lame." he then looked at you wearing a gentle smile. His cheeks flushed pink then looked away. "I-I hate to admit it,that we w-won...thanks to your plan" [name] blinks a few times, he did not see that coming from Ace. Deuce smiled also. "...true. we got the magic crystal because you gave us level headed instructions." then he sighed in relieved. "This way, we can prevent expulsion"

"I'm glad everyone is alright." You said, delighted for them. Ace cleared his throat. "Yeah,yeah. Were all relieved. And seriously worn out and battered. Let's go home." He said. Grim let out a tired sigh. "I'm starving from using so much magic...hm?" Grim spotted a black stone then picks it up. "What's this?"

"Remnants from that monster?" You asked, scooping grim up from your arms and take a closer look at it. "A magic crystal?"[name] states. "But I've never seen one pitch black like coal before..." Grim sniffed the stone. "This thing smells really good..."he said.

"Seriously?!"

Grim grinned."This has to be candy the monster was hiding! Oooh! I can't hold back!" [Name]'s eyes widen."Time to dig in!"

"Grim!"

"He actually ate it?!" Deuce asked in disbelief. "Guh!?" [Name] looks at grim in worry."Is something wrong? Does it tastes bad?" Ace sighs shaking his head. "Oh boy...that's why you don't eat things off the ground."he said.

"De...d-d-d-delicious!"

"What!?" the three humans shout in shock. Grim started chewing the stone."It's full bodied but also rich with an aromatic sweetness that blooms in my mouth!"then he gulped."Like a whole field of flowers in my mouth!"

Ace stuck out his tongue in disgust making puking noise. "Bleh! Monster's really do have different tastes from us!" Deuce shrugged. "I guess so...but more than that...mostly people wouldn't put a mysterious object in their mouth without thinking" You nod in agreement in deuce's statement. "Monster's will eat anything..."you sigh,shaking your head.

"Gahahaha! Tasty,tasty! Don't worry! My stomach isn't weak like yours!" [Name] rolled his eyes. "Yeah right!" he wiped his mouth.

"Don't come crawling to me when you get sick later."Ace said.

"Switching gears, let's get this magic crystal to the headmaster..."deuce suggests.

'...ake...aster...oung...ster..'

[Name] quickly turns around when a strange voice he hears. A hand pressed over his head but no one was beside him.

'...soon... I'll...ind...way...'

"Soon... I'll find...a way?"you said,repeating the words you heard from a voice.

"[Name]! Let's go!" Grim shouted catching [name] off guard. "Hm? Right!"

You halts infront of the mirror portal, then stare at your friends. You looked over behind you when you caught a glimpse of a silhouette with it's crimson slitted eyes stare at you.

The black silhouette slowly backs away, and plummeted in the shadows of the woods.

"Is something wrong...[name]?" Deuce asked, a slight hint of worry in his tone. "Oh, it's nothin---" all of a sudden your legs lost its strength and you slowly fell.

'what...' [name] closed his eyes, as he felt an arm grab him before he fell unconscious.
