Saving Me

Chapter 4

"What the hell is wrong with that brat??" Levi thought to himself, furiously walking along a large dark park which separated their homes. "Why can't I get a break from these memories?! I wish I could escape my mind..But..I guess Eren is right..I'll try to get an apology out of myself tomorrow..But I really am ready to do literally anything to stop the pain.."

-Whoa! Look what we've got here! - A savage bass voice cut Levi's thoughts.

That voice! Levi knew that voice, it was imprinted in the back of his mind so well. He would never forget this voice after what happened.

-You.. - Levi thought it might be a good idea to just run away and call the police, but he wasn't the type to run away, he never ran away from anything.

-It's my bitch! Well..I believe we have some unfinished business. You know, I would gladly have some more fun with you, but there's a problem..You are an evidence, and without you it'll be much harder for the authorities to charge me with anything, that is, if they ever catch me.

The man got a knife almost the length of his arm from behind him. He was almost twice Levi's height, and much more muscular.

-I will kill you! - Levi hissed.

The man charged at Levi swinging the knife in the air. Levi blocked it and was able to punch him in the stomach, which only enraged him more. They struggled for a few minutes, and it seemed that Levi could actually win the fight, but for a second he left his left side open giving the man a chance. Which he used. He stuck the ending of the knife in Levi's side, trying to get it deeper, while Levi struggled to resist. Sharp pain shot through Levi's whole body.
Then he saw his opotrunity. Levi took a deep breath, trying to ignore the pain and kicked the man in the groin as hard as he could. While the man lost his grip of the knife, Levi pulled it out of himself and was able to stab the man a few times before falling down, in lack of power. The man ran away leaving traces of blood.

Very soon sirens were heard. Probably someone saw what happened, since both the
e police and an ambulance were there. Levi struggled to stay conscious, but soon enough he gave in to the darkness in his mind.

"Levi didn't come to school again..I hope he's alright, I hope he is not mad at me and didn't do anything stupid.."

Eren dialed Levi's number but the voice mail answered, again. It's been like this the whole day, and also there was no answer on Levi's stationary phone at home. Eren was worrying by now, he planned to go to Levis' after school, but he was too concerned, and there were two more hours till the end of school. He didn't want to bother aunt Marry, but before he knew, his phone was pressed to his ear making dialing noises.

-Hello? - A sobbing voice answered.

-Aunt Marry, it's Eren, is everything ok?

-Oh, Eren dear..Levi..he is..he is in the hospital, - Eren could hear her cry over the phone.

-What happened? - Without thinking Eren grabbed his bag and ran towards the school exit. Screw school, Levi is hurt again, and this time he's not leaving him alone!

-He was s..stabb... - She couldn't finish the sentece before breaking into tears again.

-I'm on my way! - Eren hung up, and began to run faster.

Eren barged into the internal medicine department pushing some confused intern girl off her feet. He got to the reception desk, screaming:

-Where is patient Levi Ackerman??

Before the nurse could answer, he heard aunt Marry's voice.

-Eren? Oh, Eren darling! - She rushed to him bursting into tears again.

-How is he?

-The doctors said there's no life threat, and that non of the vital organs were hurt..But he's been through so much! My poor Levi! - She sobbed, - He hasn't regained consciousness yet, but you can go see him. I'll..I will go talk to the doctor once more.

Eren entered a small white room with a bed, a chair, small desk and many beeping machines. Levi laid on the bed, eyes closed, slowly and steadily breathing. There were so many tubes connected to him, it looked a bit frightening.

Eren sat on the chair close to Levi's bed. He took Levi's arm in his own.

-Levi..I'm so sorry..I'm so sorry I let you go yesterday. If I stopped you..If I let you kiss me.. - Eren broke into tears, - I'm so sorry..I love you so much..I need you so much..

He buried his face in the blanket that covered Levi's sleeping body.

Levi slowly opened his eyes. It took him a minute to realize where he was. A vague pain in his left side reminded him of what has happened.

"If I'm on painkillers, they aren't doing a very good job". He grunted to himself.

He wanted to see how the wound was doing, but suddenly noticed a brown-haired head resting on the side of the bed.

-Eren.. - Levi whispered. Then he noticed the boy was sleeping. It didn't look like a very peaceful sleep. Eren looked disturbed, traces of tears on his lashes.

"It's all my fault..If I didn't act like an ass..Now Eren is wasting his time here, and..Aunt Marry! She is probably broken.."
"Eren did nothing but being there for me, and I..I'm such a shitty person..He is so sweet to me..He looks so cute sleeping like that.."

Levi stroked Eren's cheek, it was moist from tears. He put his hand on Eren's head. Eren suddenly raised his head, squinting from the sleep.

-Levi! You're awake!! - Eren jumped at him forcing a tight hug on Levi.

-Er..Eren I can't breathe! And I'm a bit in pain you know!

-Oh..sorry. I'm just so glad you are alright! I was so worried. Levi I'm so sorry! I shouldn't let you go yesterday! If I just stopped you..

-No, - Eren's words were cut, - I am the one who needs to..apologize..I shouldn't have talked to you like that, and I shouldn't have..kissed you..You are so good to me..you don't deserve such a shitty attitude..

-Levi.. - Eren's eyes filled with tears again, but this time not of sadness. It was the first time ever that Levi talked to him so sweetly and gently. Eren kissed his hand.

-Oi, brat! What are you doing?!

-Hey! My Heichou is back! - Eren's lips widened in a huge smile.
