The mood inside is gloomy.
I think as I'm seated at the dinner table eating lunch, with Lukas, Laura and the rest of the guys.
Even Gianna is quiet, and the only sound heard is the forks hitting the plate.
I've been here since ten am, as Lukas and I agreed, and the first moment I stepped foot inside was like a huge gray cloud was set above my head.
Everyone is quieter than usual, heads low, and Moretti doesn't stops glaring ahead, sentences short and dismissive whenever he talks.
I didn't bother talking either, just minding my business and trying to track Dimitri affiliations.
We found out that he had some woman who he visited often, and he had a mother.
I have my doubts as if she's still alive, Dimitri never liked her that much.
Just because the woman was sweet, kind and assertive with him.
His dad loved her to death, but I'm sure the bastard wouldn't keep her alive after his dad being rooting in hell.
It's one of the things that sometimes gets me lack of sleep at night.
I did what I had to do, and at the time didn't thought about her...but I couldn't handle missing a chance.
No way I would ever have his last name mine, not even for a millisecond, not even if the world turned the walking dead on me.
That would be losing any dignity I had.
After finishing lunch I decide to help Rivera, Marisa and Jules to clean the table, as the rest disperses to their lifes.
With us four, it's all cleaned quickly and after putting the last plate on the sink, I sigh, cleaning my hands on the white cloth.
"You have no clue as what is happening, do you?" Rivera asks, making me shake my head.
I really don't.
"It's the five year mark of the bosses mom death." She whispers, as my eyebrow raise.
I guess that explains everything.
My dad died almost twenty years ago, and even though I numbed myself, there's always that spark of pain when I think about it, but before it increases I run while blasting music, to forget.
"Didn't know at all." I comment, and when Marisa and Jules enter, Rivera gives me a small smile and goes back to work.
"Thank you for the help dear." Marisa smiles, and I nod. "No problem. Is anything else needed?"
"No, you can go. Thanks again." I nod at her and leave after excusing myself.
Climbing up the stairs, I see pussy Steve leaving the office, and take the open door as a chance to enter inside.
