Chapter 6

River

I woke up with a smile on my face. I giggled and rolled over onto the chest of my mate who woke with a start at my sudden weight on him.

"Always early." He sighed tiredly, smiling lazily at me.

"Always late," I replied.

I kissed him softly, enjoying the ache between my legs from last night. His body on top of mine is an image I look forward to seeing again and again. We made love a few times before I was completely exhausted, it only made me a little self-conscience since Alioth seemed to be able to take me endlessly without getting so tired.

"You'd think after last night you would sleep in for once." He teased, trailing his thick fingers across my lower back and over my hip, I winced when his hand touched me there and his eyes immediately grew dark.

He ripped the blanket back before I had a chance to stop him, eyes zeroing in on the bruises that covered my skin. His expression fell and he lightly brushed his hands over my skin. I knew I had them, I felt them. My thighs, my hips, my shoulders, but they were made from the intensity of our lovemaking. I will heal in a few hours. If I don't reassure him that I'm alright, he'll never touch me again.

I sat up quickly, "Alioth, I'm fine. I'll heal."

"I hurt you River. You knew I hurt you." He gritted out, his self-hatred evident.

"These are good bruises." I reason.

He cringed at my words, "Good bruises? Really River?"

I smiled, throwing one of my legs over his body to straddle him. I leaned down, kissing him gently, "Yes," I mumbled against his lips. "Good bruises."

"I'm sorry." He apologized, looking away shamefully. I pulled his head back to face me.

"Don't apologize for last night, please. I had the best time with you and I want to do it again." I smirked. I knew I was winning this disagreement, his eyes darkened as he stared at my nudity.

"I'm not saying we won't, but," He removed me from his body, standing up from the bed. I admired his butt from where I sat while he grinned, catching me in the act. "Let's give it some time before it happens again. I want you healed."

He held out his hand for me to take. He pulled me up, and I jumped on him wrapping my legs around his upper body, kissing his nose.

"We need to shower," I tell him with a gleam in my eyes. He laughed, kissing me before setting me down.

"You take our shower, I'll shower in another room."

I frowned at him.

"Don't look at me like that," He tucked a few pieces of hair behind my ear. "I'm afraid I can't resist you if I join."

I smiled up at him, "That's not a bad thing."

He chuckled, pushing me towards the bathroom, "Go."

Once we were both washed and dress, we ate and lounged around for a few hours before we headed out to Titania's. I basically talked Alioth's ear off, loving how he always listened to every word I spoke. He watched me with such vigor, squeezing my hand lightly as if to remind himself that I'm really here.

"Maybe we can go into town sometime and I can take you to a movie," I tell him excitedly.

His eyes lit up, I'm sure he'd be happy to do anything as long as it's with me. I can tell he enjoyed my newly found genuine happiness that only he can give me.

"I've never been to one of your movie contraptions before." He said.

I laughed pulling him closer, "You can just call it a movie theater. It's very cool. We buy tickets, get snacks or smuggle them in to save money, then we just watch a movie on a huge screen. It will be fun."
