Alioth

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, watching my surroundings closely. The men and women that filled the theater are harmless, weak. That didn't matter to me. Any one of them could potentially be a threat to my mate, I regretted coming here.

"We forgot drinks!" River whisper-shouted, going to stand up but I pulled at her arm, bringing her back down with a hard stare.

"Alioth, I'll only be a few minutes, the movie won't start for a little bit." She explains going to stand again. This time, I joined her.

"I thought you said you'd try." She frowned while we walked out of the theather to buy beverages.

"I am trying, my love. We are in a public place, out here it's different from back home." I reason but she only shook her head me.

"We are going to lose our seats, they were the best ones." She grumbled sadly.

I chuckled, kissing the top of her head, "If people know what's good for them, they wouldn't dare take them. Worry not, I won't allow them to have our seats."

She smirked at me, telling the worker her order while I scanned the area, making sure we were safe. I was the largest one in here and earned myself a few stares and whispers. None of that mattered. I know to earthlings, I'm what they call sexy, it's a strange term to use for calling someone beautiful. Many females look my way, begging me for attention with their eyes. I frowned at them, sending them silent warnings to back off. I'm taken and have no intention of choosing another over my own mate but they'll never understand, humans never do.

A brave female winked at her friends and walked in my direction while my innocent mate was talking with one of the workers as she waited for her order, completely oblivious to the human coming towards us. Female or not, she won't get anywhere near my River.

I met the human halfway, annoyed with her obnoxious stares, "What?" I snapped at her watching as her once brave face fell at my tone.

She was silent for a few seconds before gaining back some of her confidence, "I was wondering if  I can have your number. You look like a man who knows what he wants. Lucky for you, I also know what I want." She said in an overly flirtatious tone. My lips pursed in disgust.

This female wasn't ugly but by any means which is probably why she has the confidence she does, but compared to River, her face is plain, at best. Her skin was only slightly lighter than my own and I'm a dark man. Her eyes a nice shade of brown while her hair was in many individual braids that reached her lower back but none of it mattered. She isn't as small as my mate, I know for a fact she is a whole head taller and has more muscle mass.

The thought of turning down this girl unsettled me only because if she gets angry enough, she could hurt my mate. The only thing keeping me calm is knowing that River isn't human and though she looks weak, she most certainly is not.

"What I want isn't you, I am spoken for. Now go away." I command watching as the girl shrunk back, turning on her heel to walk away.

Just then River giggled while skipping over to me excitedly, "They have snowcaps! These are my favorite." She said, holding up a box full of chocolates that were coated in weird white particles. She held both of our drinks with her other arm and I took them for her.

"You brought snacks in your bag, love." I chuckled, leading her back to our theater.

"And? You can never have enough food." She pointed out in an obvious tone.

I watched her talk with so much admiration, it was unreal knowing she is mine alone. I love her so much.

"What movie is this again?" I asked her as we took our seats that luckily, weren't stolen from us. I would have hated to have to kick a few puny humans out of them. My mate didn't need to see that.
