"Kuroo-Senpai~" Hinata hummed as he stretched his small body out. Kuroo flinched at the sexy tone of his crush.

"... What'cha doing, Shrimpy?"

Kuroo got off his bed and went downstairs to get some fruit for breakfast. Kenma, who was sitting on the couch playing video games, hardly spared him a glance. "I accidentally fell asleep on the couch, so I just woke up. Why'd you call, Kuroo-Senpai?"

The rooster head closed the door to his room and bit into his apple.

"What? You didn't want to talk to me?"

A small gasp was heard over the phone. "That's not it, Kuroo-Senpai! I'm actually glad you called!"

"And why is that?"

"Because... I'm all alone, so it's nice to hear someone's voice. Especially yours..." Hinata muttered the last part as he walked up the stairs to the bathroom to brush his teeth. He had a terrible aftertaste from dinner last night.

Kuroo nearly dropped his apple but caught it in the nick of time. The sound of water running on the other side of the phone caught his attention. "Shorry, Kuoo-Shenai, 'm ushing I 'eeth," Hinata attempted to say with a toothbrush in his mouth.

The rooster head cackled at Hinata's attempt to talk, taking a large bite from his apple. The sound of water soon stopped, and there was some rustling. "I have the phone on speaker, ahaha." Hinata went into his room and began changing his clothes.

"That's cool. What are you doing now?"

"Changing my clothes." Hinata pulled his underwear off and got a clean pair out of his drawer.

"Ah, man~ I wish I could see," Kuroo groaned and flopped back on his bed. A sweet giggle passed through the phone. "Haha~ I didn't know Kuroo-Senpai could joke like that." After getting into a large sweater and a pair of black volleyball shorts, Hinata left his room.

"I wasn't kidding tho-" A yelp brought Kuroo to attention. Rustling and banging were heard before everything went quiet. "Shrimpy?! You okay!?" When he didn't receive an answer, he grits his teeth in worry and ran downstairs to through his shoes on, phone in hand.

"Where are you going?" Kenma questioned from the living room. Hurriedly, Kuroo stood up and opened the door. "Out," he muttered loud enough for his friend to hear. Kenma stared at the door for a moment, shrugging and going back to playing his game.

Kuroo got Hinata's address from Daichi and raced there. He plugged his earbuds into his phone and pocketed it so he could run faster while still listening. As he reached the halfway point of the hill Hinata's house rested on, he heard a faint noise.

He halted all movements and tried to steady his breathing so he could hear better. It was crying. "Hinata!" Kuroo shouted into his earbud piece, praying for a response. More rustling was heard before the cries became more evident.

"Sen-Senpai," Hinata whined. He felt his body ache with the movement. More specifically, his arm. He was having a hard time comprehending things because of the pain traveling through his body.

The only thing that ran through his mind was "Kuroo-Senpai..." Banging was heard on the other side of the door, along with loud shouts that hurt his head. The same noises echoed over the phone, confusing Hinata more than he already was.

He opened his eyes and tried to stand up, but slipped in something. Bringing his hand into his vision, he realized it was blood. Panic flooded him, and he cried harder. What happened? Could this stop him from playing volleyball?
