Goshiki's family ran a bakery, so, as the only son of the family, he took it upon himself to watch over it and help around when the need arose.
"You sure you're going to be able to handle things by yourself? Why not invite one of your friends to help out? Tell them we'll pay them well!" Goshiki's mother said as she pulled her purse over her shoulder. "I'll be fine, Mom. Besides, you guys need this promotion! Good luck!"
Goshiki helped her put her luggage in the car. "You're so kind, Sweetie! We'll be back in a few days, so be careful, okay? If you need anything, we're only a phone call away! Love you!" After his mother hugged him, his father also hugged him.
"Be good, Bud. Also, before I forget, why don't you invite that little ginger-haired friend of yours over again? It might be your chance to... you know, confess." Wiggling his eyebrows, Goshiki's father elbowed him suggestively.
"Oh, leave him be, Honey. He'll confess when he wants to!" His father put his hands up in surrender. "Just giving a little advice. Anyway, I'll see you in a few days. Take care of the place while we're gone."
Once his parents began driving off, Goshiki sighed and went back to the bakery.
-----
"There we go," Goshiki muttered to himself as he pulled the last pan of pastries out for the night. "I better lock up soon." Suddenly, his phone began ringing, interrupting the quiet atmosphere.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Goshiki-Kun! What'cha doing?" An all-to-familiar voice exclaimed over the phone. Immediately, Goshiki's cheeks exploded in a vibrant red. "H-Hinata? What-What's up?"
"Well, your parents called me and told me to call you because they thought you might be lonely with them gone for so long. My mom and sister are out of town as well right now, so I get it, ahaha. Are you lonely, Goshiki-Kun?"
The way Hinata's angelic voice softly rang through his ear made his heart leap with joy. The question the ginger had asked finally registered in his brain properly, and he cleared his throat a bit. "A little, yeah."
Fiddling with his fingers, he thought about the things his parents had told him and his father's advice before they left. "Would you... maybe want to come over and... I don't know... spend the night?"
"Sure thing! I love staying with you! Your bed's super soft, ahaha. I'll bring some of my volleyball magazines for us!"
He thinks my bed's soft... I can't wait to... Wait, how was I going to finish that sentence? Ignoring his thoughts, Goshiki smiled fondly to himself. "I can't wait."
-----
The door to the bakery opened, revealing a panting, but smiling ginger. He spotted the casually dressed Goshiki at the counter and ran behind it, jumping into the taller male's arms. "Mmh~ You smell like cake!" Hinata giggled, lifting his head enough to smile at his friend.
Flustered, the purplette pushed Hinata's face into his chest, hoping he didn't catch his red-tinted cheeks. "Goshiki-Kun, can I help you close up?" The clueless ginger asked, not bothered at all by their overly long hug.
"Yeah, of course, you can," he muttered, secretly inhaling Hinata's sweet smell.
-----
GIggling, Hinata flopped onto Goshiki's bed, gripping his blanket and rolling over so that it was wrapped around him. The purplette laughed with him, plopping down beside him. "I love your bed! I never want to leave~" the ginger began giggling more at his silliness.
